Abstract: A positive electrode (11) according to one embodiment is provided with: a positive electrode collector (30); a first middle layer (32) disposed on one of two surfaces of the positive electrode collector (30), the surface being on the inner circumferential side when the positive electrode collector (30) is wound; a second middle layer (34) that is disposed on the other surface that is on the outer circumferential side; and a positive electrode mixed material layer (36) disposed on the first middle layer (32) and on the second middle layer (34). The first middle layer (32) and the second middle layer (34) contain insulating particles and an electrical conductor, and the thickness of the first middle layer (32) is less than the thickness of the second middle layer (34).

Abstract: A positive electrode with a positive electrode current collector and a positive electrode mixture layer, and the positive electrode mixture layer has first and second positive electrode mixture layers. The first positive electrode mixture layer comprises a positive electrode active material composed of compound A that contains Ni, Co, Al and Li. The second positive electrode mixture layer is disposed between the first positive electrode mixture layer and the positive electrode current collector, and comprises a positive electrode active material including: said compound A; and a Li-containing compound B which is smaller in specific capacity (mAh/g) and average particle diameter than said compound A. In said compound A, a ratio of Ni to the total number of moles of the metal elements except Li is 82 mol % or more. The average particle diameter of said compound B is 55% or less of the average particle diameter of said compound A.

Abstract: A secondary battery includes a positive electrode having a positive electrode current collector and a positive electrode active material layer; a negative electrode having a negative electrode current collector and a negative electrode active material layer; a separator interposed between the electrodes; a electrolyte; a positive electrode lead; and an insulating tape that covers part of the positive electrode. The positive electrode current collector has an exposed portion connected to the positive electrode lead. The positive electrode lead has an extending portion that projects from the exposed portion and an overlapping portion that overlaps the exposed portion. At least part of the exposed portion and at least part of the overlapping portion are covered with the insulating tape. The insulating tape has a substrate layer and an adhesive layer. The substrate layer contains a polyimide. The adhesive layer has an electrical resistance of 1 kΩ/mm2 or more at 500° C.

Abstract: A positive electrode is provided with: a positive electrode current collector constituted of aluminum as the main component; a positive electrode mixture layer formed on the positive electrode current collector aid containing a lithium-containing transition metal oxide; and a protective layer interposed between the positive electrode current collector and the positive electrode mixture layer. The protective layer contains inorganic particles, a conductive agent, and a binder material. In the positive electrode, the peel strength between the positive electrode current collector and the protective layer is higher than the peel strength between the protective layer and the positive electrode mixture layer.

Abstract: A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery with a positive electrode having a positive electrode current collector and a positive electrode active material layer that is supported by a first main surface and a second main surface. The first main surface includes a first exposed section on which the positive electrode active material layer is not arranged. A positive electrode lead is connected to the first exposed section and includes an extension section and an overlapping section. At least a portion of the first exposed section, along with at least a portion of the overlapping section, is covered with a positive electrode insulating tape which has a base, a first layer that adheres to the first exposed section and to the overlapping section, and a second layer interposed between the base and the first layer; and the second layer expands when heated above a threshold.

The intermediate layer comprises: a first intermediate layer that includes a non-oxide conductive inorganic compound and a positive-electrode active material; and a second intermediate layer that includes an insulating inorganic material and a non-oxide conductive inorganic compound. The conductive inorganic compound becomes an insulating oxide at 300° C. or above.
