Abstract: A fastener system for use to assemble a pet barrier. The fastener system includes a body and a mountable member that is configured to attach two adjacent overlapping wire panels together to erect a pet barrier. Vertical grooves and horizontal grooves are disposed along the periphery of the interior surface of the body. The detents formed within the vertical grooves assist in retaining the vertical wire rods of the distal wire panel so that the body can hang onto the back side of the distal wire panel without the user having to hold it in place which facilitates the assembly of the pet barrier with only a single user. Thus, the fastener system allows a single user to assemble the pet barrier without the assistance of another person.

Abstract: An animal enclosure and method of collapsing the enclosure is disclosed. The enclosure is fabricated from a plurality of panels. One or more first panels have elongate rods whose end portions are formed into a hook. An edge rod of an adjacent second panel is disposed within the hooked end portion of the first panel. By offsetting the hooked end portion of the first panel from the plane within which the first panel resides, the first and second panels to be stacked upon each other by pivoting the second panel onto the first panel.

Abstract: A tray lock mechanism for a pet enclosure is disclosed. The tray lock mechanism includes a sliding component that has a camming surface that interacts with a leading-edge of the tray to generate an upward force to move the sliding component out of the way so that the tray can be inserted into an opening and into the pet enclosure. Additionally, in a further embodiment, the tray lock mechanism contemplates a door extension that extends downward and blocks the opening when the door is in the closed position and unblocks the opening, when the door is in an opened position.

Abstract: A connector for use with an animal barrier.
