Abstract: Methods related to wireless communication systems and reducing peak-to-average-power ratio (PAPR) in MU-MIMO transmissions are provided. A base station (BS) generates a plurality of communication signals including data for a plurality of user equipment (UE) devices in a plurality of serving beam subspaces. The BS may also generate a peak-to-average-power ratio (PAPR) reduction signal for one or more of the plurality of communication signals. A first portion of the PAPR reduction signal is in a first serving beam subspace of the plurality of serving beam subspaces based on a first error vector magnitude (EVM) associated with a first UE of the plurality of UEs. A second portion of the PAPR reduction signal is in a non-serving beam subspace. The BS may also transmit, to the plurality of UEs, the plurality of communication signals and the PAPR reduction signal. Other features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: A phase tracking reference signal (PTRS) may be enhanced to carry data encoded with a relative low modulation and coding scheme (MCS). A receive device may receiving a data channel, the data channel including a transport block encoded using a first MCS. The receiving device may receiving a PTRS interleaved with the data channel. The PTRS is encoded with the second MCS that is lower than the first MCS. The receiving device may decode the PTRS to determine PTRS data. The receiving device may track phase noise using the PTRS data as a transmitted sequence of the PTRS. The receiving device may decode the transport block for the data channel based on the first MCS and the tracked phase noise.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In one example, a receiving device (e.g., a UE) may transmit, to a transmitting device (e.g., a base station), a capability indicator indicating a capability of the receiving device to perform peak reconstruction using soft metrics (e.g., expected value, covariance) on symbol decisions. The receiving device may receive, from the transmitting device and based on the capability indicator, control signaling indicating a clipping level applied to generate a signal and a subset of peaks clipped from the signal. The receiving device may receive the signal generated in accordance with the control signaling from the transmitting device and may decode a reconstructed signal based on performing the peak reconstruction on the signal using the soft metrics on symbol decisions, the clipping level, and the subset of the peaks clipped from the signal.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first wireless device may communicate, with a second wireless device, a first set of messages of a first message type that are acknowledged according to an acknowledgement procedure. The first wireless device, the second wireless device, or both may select a first subset of messages of the first plurality of messages and a first subset of bits from each message of the first subset of messages based on the first set of messages being acknowledged and according to a sampling configuration common to both the first wireless device and the second wireless device. The first wireless device, the second wireless device, or both may generate a key using bit values of the first subset of bits from each message of the first subset of messages, encoding a message using the key, and communicate the encoded message.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a transmitter device may transmit a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) communication using a first code block order for code blocks of the HARQ communication; detect a trigger to retransmit the HARQ communication based at least in part on transmitting the HARQ communication; reorder the code blocks of the HARQ communication based at least in part on detecting the trigger to retransmit the HARQ communication; and retransmit the HARQ communication using a second code block order based at least in part on reordering the code blocks of the HARQ communication. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A transmitting device may reduce a channel overhead of a peak suppression information message (PSIM) by reducing amplitude signaling of clipped peaks of a data signal. To avoid including amplitude information for each clipped peak of a time-domain data signal in a PSIM, the transmitting device may subtract a constant amplitude offset from each peak above a clipping threshold in the time-domain data signal. The transmitting device may indicate the amplitude offset in the PSIM, and a receiving device may reconstruct the data message based on the amplitude offset. In some examples, the transmitting device may indicate a peak to average power ratio (PAPR) in the PSIM, such as a PAPR of a maximum peak in the data signal. Based on the indicated PAPR, the receiving device may perform a calculation to determine the amplitude offset for reconstructing the data message.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may multiplex peak suppression information message (PSIM) on a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) with data for efficient implementation of PSIMs for peak to average power ratio (PAPR) reduction. A UE may clip peaks from a signal to be transmitted and capture information of the clipped peaks into a PSIM. The UE may then multiplex the PSIM on the PUSCH such that a receiving device (for example, a base station) may receive the signal and reconstruct the signal (for example, PUSCH data) using the PSIM. According to some aspects, each PUSCH symbol may include a PSIM for a previous PUSCH symbol (for example, such that causality is preserved if multiplexing PSIM and data for each PUSCH symbol). Various aspects of the techniques described herein may further provide for PSIM positioning in frequency, PSIM modulation, PSIM channel coding, PSIM multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) configurations, among other examples.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A transmitting device (e.g., a user equipment (UE) or base station) may reduce a peak to average power ratio (PAPR) by clipping signals transmitted to a receiving device according to a clipping level. The receiving device may receive, from the transmitting device, an indication of the clipping level associated with a reference signal. The receiving device may receive the reference signal and identify distortions based on the clipping level. The receiving device may iteratively reconstruct peaks of the clipped reference signal until the receiving device is able to obtain accurate pilot symbols for use in channel estimation. The techniques described herein may enable receiving devices to improve efficiency and reliability of communications by improving channel estimation, which may increase the probability of successfully decoding transmitted information.
