Abstract: Methods and systems for managing an interruption of content presentation on a computing device are provided. In one example, an interruption of presentation of a segment of content on a computing device is detected. An estimated recovery time is determined for the interruption. Based at least in part on the estimated recovery time, a determination is made as to whether to skip the segment or wait to resume presentation of the video segment after the interruption subsides. Based on a result of the determining whether to skip or wait, an instruction to wait or an instruction to skip the segment is generated for presentation via the computing device.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided herein for rearranging the order of a plurality of segments of a trailer for media content, based on a retrieved viewing history of at least one user watching the trailer. Based on the retrieved viewing history, it is determined whether any of the plurality of segments arranged in a predetermined order contain spoiler information for the at least one user. Responsive to the determination that at least one of the plurality of segments contains spoiler information, a position of the at least one segment within the trailer is rearranged to generate a rearranged order of the plurality of segments, and the trailer in the rearranged order is generated for display.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for generating for display, with a media asset, one or more preview images. If a preview image corresponding to an advanced play position, relative to a current play position, provides a spoiler, an alternative preview image is generated for display.
The alternative image may be a modified version of the original image in which at least a portion is removed or masked, or a replacement image, e.g., an image from another play position, a promotional image, or an indication that the preview image is not displayed. A different alternative image or modification may be used when a subsequent play position has been reached if the unmodified preview image contains a different spoiler, and/or a previous modification is no longer required, e.g., if, at the subsequent play position, the original image is no longer a spoiler, the original image may be used as a preview image.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described to enable a device of a user to automatically join an ongoing conference, where the device is not currently joined to the conference. A first audio signature is generated based on voices of users already in the conference, and a second audio signature is generated based on an audio signal captured by a microphone of the device associated with the first user when the device associated with the first user was not joined to the conference. Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for streaming during unavailability of a content server. Upon determining that there are conditions indicating buffering issues during delivery of a media asset, a server determines a first group of devices suitable for receiving the media asset from the server and sharing the media asset on a peer-to-peer network. Then, the server determines a second group of devices suitable for receiving the media asset on a peer-to-peer network from a first group device. The server then determines groupings within which to share and receive the media asset. Next, the server transmits instructions to the devices in the first group to maintain in buffer and share certain portions of the media asset with the second group devices within their grouping. Finally, the server updates information detailing the media asset portions the devices are maintaining in buffer and sharing.
