Abstract:
An image capturing apparatus includes: a sensor; a camera; an image processor; a first communicator operatable in one between a first status and a second status that consumes less power than the first status; a second communicator having a lower data transmission rate than the first communicator; and a controller configured to make a request for whether to take an image with the camera to an external apparatus through the second communicator if the sensor senses an object while the first communicator is in the second status, control the image processor to generate the data of the image taken by the camera in response to an instruction received by the second communicator, and control the first communicator to switch over to the first status so that the data of the image are transmitted to the external apparatus through the first communicator.
Abstract:
A display apparatus and a control method thereof are provided. For example, a display apparatus which may control a hidden external apparatus that cannot be directly controlled by a remote control device and a control method thereof. Some of the disclosed example embodiments may provide a display apparatus which may analyze received first control information for the hidden external apparatus and output second control information for controlling the hidden external apparatus, and a control method thereof.
Abstract:
A curved display apparatus and a multi display system having the same are provided. The curved display apparatus includes a display panel, and a fixation member which fixes the display panel so that the display panel is curved with multiple curvatures.
Abstract:
Multimedia playing apparatuses and methods of measuring hearing characteristics of a user and outputting a sound modulated according to the hearing characteristics of the user are provided. A multimedia playing apparatus includes a sound output unit configured to output a sound comprising of one or more phonemes, and a user interface configured to receive a user response to the phonemes. The multimedia playing apparatus further includes a processor configured to acquire hearing characteristics of a user based on the user response, and determine an output level and/or an output time of the sound for each of frequency bands based on the hearing characteristics of the user. The sound output unit is further configured to output the sound according to the output level and/or the output time of the sound for each of the frequency bands.
Abstract:
A method of removing noise from a two-channel signal includes receiving channel signals constituting the two-channel signal; obtaining a noise signal for each channel by removing a target signal from each channel signal by subtracting another channel signal multiplied by a weighted value from each channel signal; estimating a power spectral density (PSD) of diffuse noise from each channel signal; obtaining a target signal including an interference signal for each channel by removing the diffuse noise from each channel signal using the estimated PSD of the diffuse noise; obtaining the interference signal for each channel by removing the diffuse noise from the noise signal for each channel using the estimated PSD of the diffuse noise; and removing the interference signal from the target signal including the interference signal for each channel.
Abstract:
A receiving apparatus for receiving a signal from a transmitting includes a receiving unit configured to receive the signal from the transmitting apparatus; a selecting unit configured to select whether to consider channel information in estimating an offset value between the transmitting apparatus and the receiving apparatus; an offset value estimating apparatus configured to estimate the offset value between the transmitting apparatus and the receiving apparatus either considering the channel information or without considering the channel information based on a selection made by the selecting unit; a synchronization performing unit configured to perform synchronization based on the estimated offset value; and a demodulation unit configured to perform demodulation of the received signal based on a result of performing the synchronization.
