摘要: A developing device configured to carry out development of an electrostatic image using color toner particles and transparent toner particles includes color and transparent developing units configured to store toner particles, carrier particles, and additive particles and configured to carry out development of the electrostatic image; color and transparent developer replenishment containers configured to store replenishment developers including at least the toner particles and the carrier particles and configured to replenish developing units with the replenishment developers; and color and transparent developers openings provided at the developing units and configured to discharge the developers in the developing units outside the developing units while replenishing the developing units with the replenishment developers, wherein the carrier particle weight ratio of the transparent replenishment developer is higher than the carrier particle weight ratio of the color replenishment developer.

摘要: An image forming apparatus includes an image bearing member; a plurality of first developing devices for developing an electrostatic latent image formed on the image bearing member at a developing position using a developer which includes a toner and a carrier; a rotatable member rotatable in a path including the first developing position, for supporting the plurality of first developing devices, wherein each of the plurality of first developing devices is effective to discharge excess developer produced by receiving the developer including the toner and the carrier to outside of each of the plurality of first developer devices using a rotation of the rotatable member; and a second developer container for developing an electrostatic latent image formed on the image bearing member at a second developing position using a developer including a toner, wherein the second developing device is disposed at a position so as to be non-rotatably adjacent to the image bearing member.

摘要: An image heating apparatus includes a belt including a heat generating layer for generating heat by energization and including a power receiving portion which has electroconductivity and is electrically connected to the heat generating layer; a stationary back-up member, provided inside the belt, for sliding on an inner peripheral surface of the belt; a pressing member for pressing the belt against the back-up member to form a nip in which a recording material is to be nip-conveyed between the belt and itself; and an electroconductive portion, provided on the back-up member, for supplying electric power to the power receiving portion by being electrically connected to the power receiving portion.

摘要: An image heating apparatus including: a heating rotary member, which heats an image on a recording material in a nip portion; an air blowing unit, which blows air toward an air blowing port to cool a predetermined area of the heating rotary member; and a shutter, which opens and closes the air blowing port, wherein a cooling operation can be performed continuously with the shutter opened after image heating processing is completed, whereby a downtime required for making the temperature distribution over the entire heating area uniform after the continuous sheet supply of small-size recording materials is reduced remarkably.

摘要: An image heating apparatus including: an image heating member for heating an image formed on a sheet at a nip portion; a temperature detector for detecting temperature of a predetermined region of the image heating member; a cooler for cooling the predetermined region; and an activating device for activating the cooler to perform a cooling operation in accordance with an output of the temperature detector, wherein the apparatus has a first mode of stopping a cooling operation in accordance with an output of the temperature detector; and a second mode of stopping the cooling operation in accordance with an end of image heating processing irrespective of the output of the temperature detecting device. The image heating apparatus is capable of suppressing unnecessary energy consumption, and of eliminating uneven glossiness due to a reduced temperature region at a boundary between a sheet passing portion and a non-sheet passing portion.

摘要: A developing apparatus is equipped with a developing container accommodating a developer including a toner and a carrier to develop at a developing position an electrostatic image formed on an image bearing member, a rotor for rotating the developing container in a path including the developing position, and a developer replenishing container for replenishing the developing container situated at the developing position by said rotor with the developer. An opening is provided on a side surface of the developing container, which allows surplus developer to spill out of said developing container situated at said developing position by said rotor. The apparatus is further equipped with a recovering container and a member for opening/closing the opening mentioned above. The recovering container recovers the surplus developer discharged from said opening utilizing a rotational motion of said rotor.
