A method and a device for virtual endoscopy in a hollow tract is disclosed in which at least one volume record of the hollow tract, recorded by tomographic imaging, is provided from which a virtual flight through the hollow tract in endoscopic perspective is calculated and visualized on a display device. In at least one embodiment, in the method and the device, before the visualization of the virtual flight, a virtual test flight without visualization is first simulated in which unobservable areas of the hollow tract are detected during the test flight. Subsequently, the observer is notified of the unobservable areas close to the location during the visualization of the virtual flight or the unobservable areas are automatically visualized during the virtual flight. Using the present method and the associated device, in at least one embodiment, the time consumption during virtual endoscopy may be reduced for the observer without overloading him with redundant information.

A method and an arrangement are disclosed for displaying time variable processes in medical imaging. In the case of the method, 2D or 3D image data obtained from an imaging modality are processed in order to produce a temporal sequence of images. Intermediate images that are displayed in temporal sequence with the images are generated by interpolation between temporally consecutive images. The processing of the 2D or 3D image data is performed, from which the images are transmitted to a display unit, in which the interpolation is carried out and which displays the images with the intermediate images. The present method and the associated arrangement permit a fluid display of the time variable processes on the display screen.

The image data are initially reconstructed with a larger slice separation and are subsequently completed in a by a reconstruction of the entire subject volume with image data of remaining intermediate images, such that the representation of the one or more secondary images is completed by the post-processing of the image data of the intermediate images over time.
