The intelligent gateway uses the identified telephone number to call the recipient and rings the recipient's telephone using a distinctive ring to notify the recipient that an electronic message has been received for the recipient.

摘要： This disclosure provides a method transmitting a network content, comprising: receiving a first data stream of a network content over a first link; forming a second and third data streams from the first data stream; sending the second data stream over a second link and the third data stream over a third link; and aggregating the second and third data streams to form the first data stream. In the present method, the first data stream may be split or load-balanced over the second and third data streams. The method further provides pulling packets from the second and third data streams; discarding duplicate packets; and assembling the remaining packets according to a protocol sequence number. The method also provides for monitoring links and for switching the data stream from a link that may be degraded.

The signals have corresponding frequencies within a frequency range of the wired communication link, such that the frequencies are representative of the frequency range. A signal loss corresponding to each of the frequencies is measured, and an indication of whether each measured signal loss is within an acceptable range is provided. The wired communication link may be a coaxial cable.

摘要： The invention provides a system, method and apparatus for connecting a target telephone with Voice Mail System in a network comprising Centrex or other TDM telephones and VoIP (or SIP) type telephones. The invention provides a system for the connection of a target telephone with a Voice Mail System in a network using a protocol converter that is connectable to a PSTN network and an IP network and a voice mail system. The converter may comprise instructions; computer memory and a processor. The converter converts message signals between SIP signals and SMDI signals as may be required and then directs the message signals to a target telephone, which may be through an IP Gateway. The system may further comprise a management console or an end office facility. An Electronic Numbering facility comprising phone numbers convertible between PSTN numbers and SIP numbers may also be provided with the system.
