摘要： A devised shank is provided to a presser foot of a sewing machine in addition to an ordinary shank, such that a special presser group for straight stitching along a fabric edge is attached to the devised shank only, in which the presser foot is attachable to a presser holder, and the ordinary shank is for such as zigzag stitching, and the devised shank is different in an attaching width from the ordinary shank. Signal generating parts are provided to the presser holder, which each issue a signal in response to when the presser foot is attached, and the signal is discriminated with a signal issued in response to a pattern group belonging to patterns selected by a pattern selecting means so that the sewing machine is driven only when the presser group and the pattern group is met.

摘要： There is a zigzag sewing machine provided with a horizontal rotary loop taker device which is restrained with respect to the rotation direction, and holds therein a bobbin carrier horizontally attached, and is supplied with a lower threads from the left side to the left basic line marked with an axial line in front of the needle, and provided with a feed dog which is provided nearly to passage of the needle to move vertically and laterally. In such a sewing machine a cam portion is provided for supplying the lower thread to a lower thread contacting portion of the bobbin carrier or a lower thread contacting portion of a part connecting right and left teeth of the feed dog, whereby the amount of supplying the lower thread is adjusted properly with respect to the left basic line and the right basic line during zigzag stitching, and the slack amount of the lower thread is adjusted properly with respect to the left basic line and the right basic line during forming stitches. A cam portion is provided to the lower thread contacting portion of a needle plate for guiding the lower thread to change the passage of the lower thread, whereby the slack amount of the lower thread may be adjusted properly with respect to the left basic line and the right basic line during forming stitches, and the lower thread of the zigzag stitch is made pretty on a rear side of the sewn fabric.

摘要： A pattern selecting device for a sewing machine of the type having a housing, a panel mounted on the housing for indicating a number of pattern indicia to be selected by the sewing machine operator, and an electronic memory storing a number of stitch control data for producing the stitches in accordance to the pattern indicia. The panel is provided with a first portion carrying a first group of pattern indicia and a second portion for indicating a second group of pattern indicia and a third group of pattern indicia. The pattern selecting device includes two screening plates mounted on the second portion. Both plates are movable relative to the second and third groups of indicia in the second section to selectively hide one of the second and third groups of indicia and visualize the other of the second and third groups of indicia or to hide both the second and third groups of indicia. The device is further provided with a switching arrangement operated to move the screening plates relative to the second and third groups of indicia. The switching arrangement produces a first electric signal when the screening plates hide one of the second and third groups of indicia and visualize the other of the second and third groups of indicia, and produces a second electric signal when the screening plates hide both of the second and third groups of indicia.

摘要： A thread tightening device for a sewing machine of the type having a main shaft, a vertically reciprocable needle bar with a needle carrying an upper thread, a loop taker and a drive shaft for driving the loop taker and a feed dog; the thread tightening device includes a group of pattern cams operatively connected to the main shaft, pattern selecting device and an arrangement for controlling the vertical movement of the feed dog. This arrangement comprises a control cam and a rotatable shaft, the control cam being slidably axially mounted on the rotatable shaft but not turnable with respect to the shaft. The thread tightening device also includes an element arranged for vertical reciprocating movement in a timed relation with the feed dog, which element engages a lower thread during the stitching operation of the sewing machine. A thread tension adjusting device is provided in the machine, which comprises an adjusting cam operatively connected to the pattern cams and a linkage arrangement which is operatively connected to the adjusting cam and to the control cam to displace the control cam in the axial direction in response to a set position of the adjusting cam to thereby adjusting lower thread tension in accordance with the respective pattern cam.

摘要： A device for automatically adjusting the tension of a lower thread, which comprises a lower thread bobbin arranged on a bottom plate of a bobbin carrier turnably carrying the bobbin, a loop taker mounted on a magnetic shaft, and an energizing coil arranged around the magnetic shaft and providing together with said bottom plate and magnetic shaft a path of magnetic flux. The device is further provided with a detector detecting the consumed amount of the bobbin thread and a control circuit for energizing the coil when the lower thread is wound to the maximum capacity of the bobbin, interrupting the light of the detector. The detector operates the control circuit to decrease the amount of electric current applied to the energizing coil so as to set the lower thread tension back to its initial predetermined value.
