摘要： A fishing reel has an anti-reverse mechanism for preventing a reel spool or other rotary member from being undesirably rotated by pulling force acting in the direction in which the fishing line is unwound. The anti-reverse mechanism is provided with a one-way bearing connected to the reel body through a ratchet wheel and pawl. It is possible to effect reliable anti-reverse operation and minimize the slipping angle and impact force when anti-reverse operation is effected. According to one embodiment, a rotary handle shaft member extends between a reel support plate and an outer plate parallel to a spool shaft, with an inner end of the handle shaft rotatably supported by the support plate through a bearing while an outer, other end portion of the shaft is rotatably supported through a bearing unit slidably but prevented from rotating, i.e., being fixed within a cylindrical portion provided on the outer plate. The longitudinal axis of the operating shaft is parallel and proximate to the axis of spool shaft such that the handle shaft need not extend radially beyond the periphery of the base of the spool. A retainer clip, engaged with a groove of the handle shaft, is secured to the support plate, restricting axial movement of the handle shaft and allowing the handle shaft to be kept in place, stably retained, on the support plate even if the outer end of the shaft is not supported by the bearing unit during assembly or disassembly of the reel. The one-way bearing arrangement is of novel design, protecting against invasion from alien substances and water, and thus protecting the anti-reverse mechanism of the reel.

摘要： A fishing reel having side plates which can be attached to and detached from frames of a reel body with higher efficiency. In this fishing reel, a retaining ring is fitted into a fitting groove that is formed on a receiving portion of a left-hand side plate, whereupon the movable range of a left-hand ring member is restricted by the retaining ring that partially projects from the fitting groove. Thus, the ring member can always be supported for rotation on the receiving portion of the left-hand side plate without being disengaged from it.

摘要： A reel for fishing is capable of mounting a fishing rod in its leading end in the direction in which a fishline is played out. The reel for fishing has a reel body which is provided with a spool on which the fishline is wound up, a handle to be driven to rotate the spool in the fishline-winding-up direction, and a grip portion to be held integrally with the reel body at the time of actual fishing. An opening is formed in the reel body, which opening is capable of smoothly thumbing the spool along the direction of the thumb which is gripping and holding the grip portion.

摘要： A reverse rotation preventing mechanism in a spinning reel for fishing is characterized in that a rotor is secured to a rotary quill, which is rotated by the turning of a handle in kinematic conjunction therewith; a reverse rotation prevention member having reverse rotation prevention engagement portions is rotatably supported concentrically to the quill; a reverse rotation prevention claw is supported by the body of the reel so as to be swingable, and can be engaged with one of engagement portions; and a roller-type one-way clutch is provided between the rotor and the reverse rotation prevention member. When the rotor is reversely rotated in such a direction as to wind a fishline, the clutch member connects kinematically the rotor to the reverse rotation prevention member.

摘要： A bail reversing apparatus of the invention has an abutting member formed on the reel body which is made to abut against a kick member to turn the kick member and thereby return the bail support member to the reel-up position. This enables efficient, quick and smooth reversing of the bail support member and does not require high precision in machining the kick member. The apparatus is also characterized in that the kick member is, either directly or through a working rod, connected to the bail support member, so that the reversing mechanism becomes very simple contributing to further reductions in the weight and size of the rotor.
