摘要: A camera having a sight line detecting device is provided with an illumination unit for detecting the corneal reflected image of the eye of the photographer, and an illumination unit equipped with plural light sources positioned around an eyepiece lens, for detecting the position of the center of the pupil. The latter illumination unit, for detecting the position of the center of the pupil, is so controlled that a light source positioned below or at the side of the eye of the photographer is turned on regardless of the change in the camera attitude, whereby the illuminating light is not intercepted by the eyelid or eyelashes and the position of the pupil center can be precisely detected.

摘要: An auto-focus (AF) camera enables AF operation with high speed and enhanced accuracy. The AF operation encompasses step-scanning the focus lens of the camera from the closest focal position to infinity, or vice versa. In one embodiment, the steps in the step-scanning are made smaller around a position judged to be close to the focus position, and the steps are made larger at other positions.

摘要: A CPU calculates integrating values of image-capturing signals in band 1 obtained by removing a frequency component equal to or lower than a first cutoff frequency from an image-capturing signal output from an image-capturing element through a band pass filter and integrating values of an image-capturing signal in band 2 obtained by removing a frequency component equal to or lower than a second cutoff frequency through a band pass filter, each in correspondence to one of a plurality of lens positions. The CPU then calculates focal point evaluation values by using these integrating values in correspondence to the individual bands. In addition, when the largest evaluation value in band 1 is judged to correspond to the closeup end position of the lens, the CPU makes a decision as to whether or not a focus match is achieved at the closeup end. The CPU uses an adjacent difference in band 1 at the closeup end, an adjacent difference ratio and an adjacent difference in band 1 at points next to the closeup end in the decision-making.

摘要: A capture device which captures developer, after used for developing image, from a wet electronic developing device includes a drying belt, a nip roller, a regeneration roller, and a cleaning roller. An absorption layer absorbing solvent is arranged over the outer circumference of the drying belt. The surface of the absorption layer contacts the surface of an organic photo-conductor belt in a predetermined adjacent area. The absorption layer rotates in an opposite direction of the rotational direction of the organic photo-conductor belt, thereby to absorb the solvent and some toner which are included in the developer. An electrostatic latent image is formed on the organic photo-conductor belt and developed using the developer. The nip roller rotates and supports an adjacent section of the drying belt which is adjacent to the organic photo-conductor belt, from the inside of the drying belt. The regeneration roller rotates and supports the drying belt, and includes a first heat source so as to dry the absorption layer with the heat generated by the first heat source. The cleaning roller includes a second heat source, makes the toner absorbed by the absorption layer melt with the heat generated by the second heat source, and removes the toner therefrom so as to dry the absorption layer.

摘要: A method of manufacturing a liquid crystal display element having characteristics of voltage-transparency, and the like, which differ locally. The method of manufacturing the liquid crystal display device includes a step of injecting a mixture of photohardening resin and liquid crystal between two substrates, and a step of exposing the injected mixture to light which causes photohardening of the mixture. The step of exposing the mixture to light includes exposing at least two pattern regions which become different from each other under photohardening conditions.
