摘要: Disclosed herein are electronic devices that include arrays of dual function light transmit and receive pixels. The pixels of such arrays include a photodetector (PD) structure and a vertical-cavity, surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) diode, both formed in a common stack of epitaxial semiconductor layers. The pixels of the array may be configured by a controller or processor to function either as a light emitter by biasing the VCSEL diode, or as a light detector or receiver by a different bias applied to the PD structure, and this functionality may be altered in time. The array of dual function pixels may be positioned interior to an optical display of an electronic device, in some cases to provide depth sensing or autofocus. The array of pixels may be registered with a camera of an electronic device, such as to provide depth sensing or autofocus.

摘要: Focusing of a monitoring camera (100) with day and night functionality comprises selecting a focusing day mode or a focusing night mode based on the camera being in day mode or night mode. In focusing day mode, an IR laser range meter (110) will measure a reference distance continuously, and in the focusing night mode the IR laser range meter will only measure reference distance in response to a focus trigger signal being activated, and during a predetermined time period. The focus distance of the camera is set based on the measured reference distance.

摘要: The present invention relates to a distance measuring apparatus including an imaging device and a calculation unit calculating a distance to a subject on the basis of an electrical signal. The imaging device includes a signal acquisition unit that acquires a first electrical signal based on a beam that has passed through a first region off the center of the exit pupil in a predetermined direction; a second electrical signal based on a beam that has passed through a second region off the center of the exit pupil in a direction opposite to the predetermined direction; and a third electrical signal based on a beam that has passed through a region eccentric from the first region in the direction opposite to the predetermined direction. The calculation unit performs a signal correction process for generating a first corrected signal and a distance calculation process for calculating the distance.

摘要: Technology disclosed herein automatically focus a camera based on eye tracking. Techniques include tracking an eye gaze of eyes to determine a location at which the user is focusing. Then, a camera lens may be focused on that location. In one aspect, a first vector that corresponds to a first direction in which a first eye of a user is gazing at a point in time is determined. A second vector that corresponds to a second direction in which a second eye of the user is gazing at the point in time is determined. A location of an intersection of the first vector and the second vector is determined. A distance between the location of intersection and a location of a lens of the camera is determined. The lens is focused based on the distance. The lens could be focused based on a single eye vector and a depth image.

摘要: A distance measurement object is imaged by a pair of line sensors of an AF sensor, and sensor data showing the sensor images is generated. A CPU generates AF data showing the contrast of sensor images with the sensor data being sequentially acquired by the CPU for each cell. Then, the AF data is used to carry out calculation of correlation values or the like, thereby calculating the distance from the distance measurement object. Thus, generation of AF data for distance measurement calculation such as correlation value calculation showing the contrast of the sensor images formed by the pair of line sensors of the AF sensor, and distance measurement calculation using the AF data are carried out by the computation processing circuit (CPU) to simplify the circuit, and also the sensor data is sequentially acquired from the AF sensor, and at the same time the AF data is sequentially generated, whereby the amount of processing time for generation of the AF data is significantly reduced to shorten distance measurement time.
