    摘要： A printer having a main printer unit 1 an image recording unit 3 and a base unit 2. The image recording unit 3 includes a carriage 25 having an ink head for discharging ink to paper and a guide shaft 26 for slidably guiding the carriage 25. The base unit 2 is disposed opposite the image recording unit 3 and supports the image recording unit 3. A paper transportation path 5 is located between the image recording unit 3 and base unit 2 for conveying paper in a paper transportation direction under the operation of paper feed means The printer has opposite sides and an opening extending from each opposite side in common alignment with the paper transportation direction for manually inserting paper of substantially any size into said paper transportation path from any side and includes a continuous paper holder which is removably attached to said printer for supplying paper continuously to said paper transportation path and a sheet feeder device (ASF 60) which is removably attached to said main printer unit for supplying a plurality of sheets in sequence to said paper transportation path when said continuous paper holder is not supplying paper.

    摘要： A pivotable display unit support structure for an electronic apparatus, e.g., a laptop or portable computer, comprises a pivotable display unit pivotally connected to the housing of the apparatus employing an integral frame member connected to the display unit and wherein a first shaft member is coupled to one end portion of the apparatus housing for maintaining a preselected angle of the pivotable display unit with respect to the surface of the apparatus housing and a second shaft member is coupled to an other end of the integral frame member apparatus housing whereby the display unit is rotatably supported relative to the apparatus housing. The frame member has first and second positioning and alignment structure for respectively receiving, positioning and aligning the first and second shaft members in proper aligned and secured relationship relative to the apparatus housing while enhancing the overall strength and support of the display unit support structure.

    摘要： A check processing device conveys checks into branch paths without the check jamming. The downstream end of the check transportation path 7 of the check processing device 1 is split by a diversion unit 18 into first and second branch paths 11 and 12. The diversion unit 18 has diversion unit guide surfaces 18a and 18b that diverge to the right and left, and a diversion unit top 18c that connects the top edges of the diversion unit guide surfaces 18a and 18b. A branch switching lever or flapper 19 is located at the branching position A. The diversion unit top 18c slopes upward from the lever top 19c in the diversion direction on both right and left sides, and also slopes upward from the top edges of the diversion unit guide surfaces 18a and 18b perpendicularly to the diversion direction. If a check 6 with a drooping top is advanced to the branching position A, the drooping portion is guided by the diversion unit top 18c up and over the diversion unit 18, thereby enabling the check 6 to enter the first or second branch path 11 or 12 without colliding with the diversion unit 18.

    摘要： A medium transferring mechanism for transferring a sheet medium in a medium transferring direction, comprising: a medium inserting portion into which the sheet medium is inserted, the medium inserting portion defined by a bottom face and by a first side face and a second side face which extend from the bottom face and opposed to each other; a medium transferring path formed at a forward end of the medium inserting portion, and operable to guide the sheet medium in the medium transferring direction; a feeding member disposed at a side of the first side face and operable to feed the sheet medium to the medium transferring path; and a pressing member disposed at the side of the second side face and operable to press the sheet medium against the feeding member, wherein a first guide face extending toward the first side face is formed at a forward end portion of the second side face; a second guide face extending from the second side face so as to gradually get close to the medium transferring path towards the medium transferring direction is formed above the first guide face; and a third guide face inclined downward from a lower edge of the second guide face toward an upper edge of the first guide face, is formed between the first guide face and the second guide face.
