A small, compact multifunction printing device provides excellent ease of use with little possibility of slips and continuous paper jamming inside. The multifunction printer has a check processing unit and a continuous paper processing unit. The check processing unit has a U-shaped check conveyance path that opens to the front of the printer and enables handling slips to be processed and the processed slips from the front of the printer. A continuous paper conveyance path that conveys continuous paper fed from a paper roll in the roll paper compartment from the back to the front of the printer is formed on the inside of the check conveyance path, enabling replacing roll paper and removing processed continuous paper from the front. The conveyance paths are independent of each other, the printing positions thereof are separated, and conveyed slips and continuous paper will not interfere with each other.

A check processing device conveys checks into branch paths without the check jamming. The downstream end of the check transportation path 7 of the check processing device 1 is split by a diversion unit 18 into first and second branch paths 11 and 12. The diversion unit 18 has diversion unit guide surfaces 18a and 18b that diverge to the right and left, and a diversion unit top 18c that connects the top edges of the diversion unit guide surfaces 18a and 18b. A branch switching lever or flapper 19 is located at the branching position A. The diversion unit top 18c slopes upward from the lever top 19c in the diversion direction on both right and left sides, and also slopes upward from the top edges of the diversion unit guide surfaces 18a and 18b perpendicularly to the diversion direction. If a check 6 with a drooping top is advanced to the branching position A, the drooping portion is guided by the diversion unit top 18c up and over the diversion unit 18, thereby enabling the check 6 to enter the first or second branch path 11 or 12 without colliding with the diversion unit 18.

The invention provides a titanium oxide photocatalyst having an excellent photocatalytic property and comprising titanium oxide particles which have part or the whole of an iron compound contained therein and supported thereon. The invention further provides a titanium oxide photocatalyst comprising titanium oxide particles which are treated with a mineral acid and which have part or the whole of an iron compound contained therein and supported thereon. The invention still further provides a process for producing the titanium oxide photocatalyst. Utilizing the excellent photocatalytic property, materials which exert or may exert a harmful influence upon human bodies or living environment, such as organic halogen compounds, malodorous gases, oils, bacteria, fungi and algae can be rapidly and effectively removed.
