The catalysts according to the invention exhibit greatly increased activity in polyether polyol production.

The invention relates to an improved method of producing double-metal cyanide (DMC) catalysts for the production of polyether polyols by polyaddition of alkylene oxides to starter compounds containing active hydrogen atoms, in which the DMC catalyst dispersion is produced using a mixing nozzle, preferably a jet disperser. The DMC catalysts produced in this way have an increased activity in polyether polyol production, reduced particle size and narrower particle size distribution.

The present invention relates to a process for continuously preparing diaryl carbonates from dialkyl carbonates and at least one monohydroxyl compound in the presence of catalysts, and to the use thereof for preparation of polycarbonates. The alkylene glycol obtained in the preparation of the dialkyl carbonate used is recycled by oxidative carbonylation with carbon monoxide in the presence of a catalyst to give the cyclic alkylene carbonate which is in turn converted to the dialkyl carbonate. More particularly, the process utilizes the alkylene glycol obtained for the diphenyl carbonate preparation process (DPC process).

The invention provides a process for preparing 4-aminodiphenylamine, an important starting product for synthesizing antioxidants and stabilizers in the rubber and polymer industry, by hydrogenating nitrosobenzene with hydrogen in the presence of a proton acid as catalyst and in the presence of a hydrogenating catalyst, optionally in the presence of an inert organic solvent and thermally decomposing the 4-ADPA ammonium salt produced in this way, wherein 4-ADPA is obtained. 4-aminodiphenylamine is produced in good yields and high purity by the process according to the present invention. Furthermore, no effluent is produced, which makes the process particularly economic and ecological.
