摘要: Disclosed are a polycarbonate and a preparation method therefor and an application thereof. The polycarbonate comprises at least one of structural units selected from a structural unit represented by formula (I) and a structural unit represented by formula (II). The polycarbonate provided by the present application has a high refractive index, and the obtained polycarbonate has a refractive index of 1.673-1.794, which can satisfy performance requirements of polycarbonate as an optical resin in optical components.

摘要: The present invention provides a novel polycarbonate diol and a polyurethane using the polycarbonate diol as raw materials. The novel polycarbonate diol produces polycarbonate diol-based polyurethane which has a high degree of hardness, superior abrasion resistance, and superior hydrophilicity, and is usable for an application such as a paint, a coating agent, a synthetic leather, an artificial leather, and a highly-functional elastomers, or the like. The present invention also provides an active-energy radiation curable polymer composition giving a cured film having a superior contamination resistance and high degree of hardness. The present invention is obtained, for example, by reacting specific two types of diols with diester carbonate in the presence of a transesterification catalyst being a compound using a metal of Group 1 or 2 on the periodic table. The present invention provides a polycarbonate diol wherein the metal content of the transesterification catalyst is 100 weight ppm or less, a polyurethane obtainable by using this polycarbonate diol and an active-energy radiation curable polymer composition containing the urethane(meth)acrylate oligomer which is obtained from the polycarbonate diol.

摘要: A method of preparing a polycarbonate composition in a polymerization system that includes a monomer mixing unit, an oligomerization section, and a polymerization section. The method includes melt polymerizing a dihydroxy compound with a diaryl carbonate compound in the presence of a quaternary phosphonium catalyst to produce the polycarbonate composition having a phosphorus-containing byproduct of at least one of the quaternary phosphonium catalyst or of the diaryl carbonate compound. The method further includes recycling the phosphorus-containing byproduct into the monomer mixing unit of the polymerization system and removing the polycarbonate composition from the polymerization system. The recycle stream has a phosphorus concentration of greater than or equal to 40 parts per million by weight.

摘要: Described is a transparent polymer-based composite and a method for preparing a transparent polymer-based composite. The transparent polymer-based composite includes an activated polycarbonate and one or more nanoparticles grafted to the activated polycarbonate. The activated carbonate is formed via a transcarbonation reaction of a mixture of a carbonic acid species having terminal ester groups and a bisphenol-A with sodium hydroxide and ortho-dichlorobenzene. The transparent polymer-based composite may be used to replace the glass front-sheet of solar panels for photovoltaic applications.
