摘要: A liquid crystal display panel includes an array substrate, a counter-substrate, a liquid crystal layer which is held between the array substrate and the counter-substrate and contains liquid crystal molecules whose alignment state is to be transitioned to a bend alignment for enabling a display operation, a retardation plate which is disposed at least on the counter-substrate, and a polarizer which is disposed on the retardation plate. The array substrate and counter-substrate include a pair of electrodes which are covered with alignment films, respectively, and are opposed to each other to define a rectangular display area, and the polarizer has an absorption axis which is substantially parallel or substantially perpendicular to each of the sides of the display area.

摘要: The object is to reduce the contact surface pressure between the balls and the retainer of a thrust ball bearing at slide contact positions, thereby suppressing the wear of the retainer. By increasing the depth of drawing of inner and outer portions embracing the balls received in pockets of the retainer, when the balls roll on the raceways of the outer ring and the inner ring, the balls and the retainer are adapted to slidably contact each other at three portions, i.e. the peripheral edge of each pocket, and the outer portion and the inner portion of the retainer. Thus, it is possible to reduce the contact surface pressure at the respective slide contact positions compared to the prior art. Thus, it is possible to suppress the wear of the retainer.

摘要: An apparatus for printing on opposite surfaces of a strip of printing paper using two electrophotographic printing units wherein each printing operation is of high quality and thermal damage to the printing is minimized. The apparatus includes a first electrophotographic printing unit for printing on the front surface of the printing paper, a buffer unit for temporarily holding the printing paper discharged outside of the first electrophotographic printing unit, a turn unit for turning over the printing paper, and a second electrophotographic printing unit for printing the reverse surface of the printing paper. A toner having a low melting temperature is employed for each of the first and second electrophotographic printing units so that developing treatment is conducted only with the aid of a heat roll but without any use of a preheating plate. A back-up roll adapted to cooperate with the heat roll is coated with a tetrafluoroethylene-based synthetic resin. The second electrophotographic printing unit is provided with a paper presser for squeezing the printing paper against a photosensitive drum only within the printing width range. A retract mechanism is operatively connected to the paper presser.

摘要: Electric-photosensitive printing is accomplished with an LD providing a laser scanning beam that is modulated to affect printing, and the power output of the LED is maintained constant through negative feedback by a holding voltage provided by a capacitor having its charge determined only during a non-printing portion of the printing period wherein a plurality of sheets are printed. During the non-printing period, contact of the scanning laser beam with the electro-photosensitive material is disabled while the laser beam is maintained on so that its power may be measured and compared with a reference level to provide a feedback signal for controlling the output of the laser beam, particularly the feedback signal being provided to the holding capacitor only during the non-printing portion of the period, and the holding capacitor being isolated from the feedback signal during the printing portion of the period. As a specific embodiment, a rectangular sheet of electric-photosensitive material is replaceable wound around a drum so that its opposite ends are spaced apart to provide a seam to affect the disablement of the laser beam from contracting the electro-photosensitive material during the non-printing portion of the period, and a separate light source used to detect this seam portion to determine the non-printing portion of the period.
