    摘要: An optical attenuator (8) includes an input port (1), an output port (4), a fixed reflector (2), a movable reflector (3), two detecting means (6, 7) and a driving device (5). The input port includes a first collimator (13) and a filter (10) attached to the first collimator. The output port includes a second collimator (41) and a splitter (42) connected to the second collimator. Input signals are transmitted from an input fiber (11) through the first collimator and then pass through the filter. The signals passing through the filter are directed by the fixed and the movable reflectors to the second collimator. The angular position of the movable reflector, which is driven by the driving device, determines the proportion of the signals. reflected by the reflectors that are received by the second collimator, which determines the size of the output signals transmitted in an output fiber (421).

    摘要: An electrical connector has an insulative housing, a plurality of contacts received in the housing, an upper shell, a lower shell, a base, a cover and a pair of latches. The upper shell and the lower shell engage with each other to receive the housing therein. The base comprises a pair of lateral walls defining a cavity therebetween for receiving the housing. A guiding post forwardly projects from a front end of each lateral wall of the base for guiding the connector to connect with the mating connector and defines a slit for receiving a corresponding latch. The lower shell comprises a lower enclosing portion and a pair of side retaining arms upwardly extending from opposite edges of the lower enclosing portion. A front retaining arm laterally extends from a front end of each side retaining arm. The front retaining arms and the side retaining arms shield and strengthen the guiding posts.

    摘要: An electrical connector of the present invention comprises an elongate housing having a forwardly projecting mating portion, a number of data terminals and signal terminals received in the mating portion, a metallic blade fixed in the mating portion, a conductive shield enclosing the housing and a pair of metallic board locks. The mating portion of the housing includes a first portion for receiving the data terminals, a second portion for receiving the signal terminals and a gap defined between the first and second portion for accommodating the blade. The metallic blade comprises a base fitting between the first portion and the second portion of the housing, a pair of side wings depending from top/bottom edges of the base, and a pair of fingers rearwardly extending from the side wings and extending along top and bottom surfaces of the second portion for contacting the shield. The shield connects with the board locks to ground thereby grounding the blade. The grounded blade not only reduces crosstalk and capacitive coupling between the data terminals and the signal terminals but also minimizes the risk of ESD.

    摘要: A low profile smart card system comprises a printed circuit board (PCB) and a smart card connector assembly mounted to the PCB. The connector assembly comprises an L-shaped insulative housing, a number of sickle-shaped contacts and first and second switch terminals retained in the housing by way of insertion molding. Mating portions of the contacts and the switch terminals extend above a mating face of the housing. The housing forms several stands-off in a mounting face thereof. The PCB defines a receiving portion in accordance with shape of the connector assembly such that the connector assembly is swamped in the PCB with the stands-off thereof abutting against a bottom face of the PCB thereby obtaining a low profile above the PCB.

    摘要: An electrical card connector includes a rectangular dielectric housing having a front side from which a card is horizontally inserted into the connector, a rear side opposite the front side, a lower wall interferentially engaging with a number of contacts and defining a card receiving space above the contact passageways and an upper wall opposite the lower wall. A spring lever is integrally formed with the housing, having a free end located about the rear side of the housing, a root connecting with the housing, and a ramp extending upwardly and rearwardly from the root through the card receiving space to the free end. When the card is inserted into the connector, a leading edge of the card runs through the ramp of the spring lever to depress vertically the free end thereof. The free end in turn depresses vertically a movable part of a switch device in the housing to cause the switch to shift from a state to a different state. Thus, a condition that the inserted card reaches a position to electrically engage with the connector is determined.

    摘要: An electrical connector for electrical interconnection between a card apparatus and a circuit board comprises a base having a top surface for supporting the card apparatus. The base defines a plurality of terminal cells therein. Two side walls are formed on opposite ends thereof defining a receiving space therebetween. A plurality of terminals is assembled in the corresponding terminal cell. Each terminal has a connecting arm protruding into the receiving space for electrically connecting a corresponding conductive pad of the inserted card apparatus. A pair of panels is assembled to the corresponding side walls and each includes guiding and retaining panels attached the side walls of the base such that the guiding panel extends apart from a top end of the side wall to a predetermined distance. A guiding slot between the guiding panel and the supporting face for retaining the card apparatus therebetween thereby achieving a reduced thickness of the connector.

The housing encases the attenuating device, optical module and electrical controlling unit. The electrical controlling unit includes an electrical resistor (57), a terminal holder (56), and a stepping motor (55). The terminal holder includes a plurality of terminals (562), and a plurality of terminal sleeves (563) depending from an insulating plate (561). The terminal holders are fittingly received in positioning holes (131) defined in the housing, so that the terminals can electrically connect the stepping motor and the electrical resistor with an external power supply. The insulating plate is made of rubber, which is softer than a material of the housing. A diameter of the terminal sleeves is slightly greater than a diameter of the positioning holes. Thus the terminal sleeves provide an airtight and watertight seal.

    摘要: A variable optical attenuator (10) of the present invention includes a cover (2), a housing (3), an optical module (4), a reciprocating means (5), and a filter (9). The reciprocating means, optical module, and filter are assembled in the housing. The reciprocating means includes a carrier (53) mounted to a rotatable screw rod (55). The filter has a varying optical density gradient over one of its dimensions and mounts on the carrier. Light signals are transmitted from an input optical fiber (45) through the filter and are reflected off a reflector (42) of the optical module to pass again through the filter to an output optical fiber (46). When the screw rod is rotated, the carrier with the filter mounted on it moves toward one side of the housing or another, varying the attenuation of the light signals. The screw rod can be rotated using a screwdriver through a side hole (33,34) on either side of the housing.
