Abstract: A photographic paddle and process of use thereof are provided. The photographic paddle is used for photographing interior or close-up vehicle exterior region features of a subject vehicle, and to rapidly produce high-quality images that are reflection-free and glare-free. The photographic paddle has the ability to produce wide-angle high-quality images and stereoscopic three-dimensional images that are reflection-free and glare-free. The photographic paddle has additional utility to photograph interior and close-up vehicle exterior region features of a subject vehicle in-situ in a densely arranged inventory lot without having to move the vehicle to and from a staging area. The photographic paddle has further utility as a versatile process that is able to rapidly adapt to changing photographic conditions as the photographic paddle moves relative to vehicle features to be photographed, ensuring capture and production of high-quality, reflection-free, and glare-free images without having to set the camera prior to each image capture.

Abstract: A vehicle photographic booth is provided that accommodates cameras with lenses with focal lengths that avoid wide angle distortion that is common in low end car photography. The photographic booth has an ovoid hemispherical dome shape with a camera mounted at the apex of the ovoid portion so as to accommodate longer focal length lenses. The overall dimension of the ovoid section of the dome for placement of a camera is determined by the available floor space of a user. The use of an enclosed ovoid hemispherical dome shape that rotates with respect to a stationary stage, or in the alternative a fixed enclosed ovoid hemispherical dome with a rotating stage allows for much less light to be needed as compared to a full open volume. An ovoid shape also provides a smaller fixed footprint than a full structure for an equal camera distance from a subject.

Abstract: A booth for photographing or inspecting a vehicle includes walls that bounding a planar stage, each of the walls has a first portion and a second portion, the first portion has a first length and extending up from the planar stage. A first end of the first portion forms a first obtuse angle with the planar stage inside the booth, the second portion has a second length and extending up from a second end of the first portion. A first end of the second portion forms a second obtuse angle with the second end of the first portion inside the booth. A platform is also suspended above the stage. A lighting source is positioned on the platform. The lighting source is configured to direct light toward the second portion of each of the walls.

Abstract: An audio analysis and processing system with a processor configured with an audio array input thread connected to a plurality of audio input channels each corresponding to an audio input sensor. An audio input sensor may be positionally related to a position of other audio input sensors and a source input thread may be configured to be connected to a microphone audio input channel. An audio output thread may be configured to be connected to a speaker output channel and a beamformer thread may be responsive to the audio array input thread. A beam analysis and selection thread may be connected to an output of the beamformer thread and a mixer thread may have a first input connected to an output of the source input thread and a second input connected to an output of the beam analysis and selection thread and may have an output connected to the audio output thread. The audio input channel may be connected to the personal communication device. The microphone audio input channel may be connected to the personal communication device. The processor may include a line output thread configured to connect to an audio output channel. An audio information interface may be provided to connect signals representing audio to the processor.

Abstract: An acoustic customization system to enhance a user's audio environment. One type of enhancement would allow a user to wear headphones and specify what ambient audio and source audio will be transmitted to the headphones. Added enhancements may include the display of an image representing the location of one or more audio sources referenced to a user, an audio source, or other location and/or the ability to select one or more of the sources and to record audio in the direction of the selected source(s). The system may take advantage of an ability to identify the location of an acoustic source or a directionally discriminating acoustic sensor, track an acoustic source, isolate acoustic signals based on location, source and/or nature of the acoustic signal, and identify an acoustic source. In addition, ultrasound may serve as an acoustic source and communication medium.

Abstract: An audio customization system operates to enhance a user's audio environment. A user may wear headphones and specify what portion the ambient audio and/or source audio will be transmitted to the headphones or the personal speaker system. The audio signal may be enhanced by application of a spatialized transformation using a spatialization engine such as head-related transfer functions so that at least a portion of the audio presented to the personal speaker system will appear to originate from a particular direction. The direction may be modified in response to movement of the personal speaker system.

Abstract: An audio source location, tracking and isolation system, particularly suited for use with person-mounted microphone arrays. The system increases capabilities by reducing resources required for certain functions so those resources can be utilized for result enhancing processes. A wide area scan may be utilized to identify the general vicinity of an audio source and a narrow scan to locate pinpoint positions may be initiated in the general vicinity identified by the wide area scan. Subsequent locations may be anticipated by compensating for motion of the sensor array and anticipated changes in source location by trajectory. Identification may use two or more sets of characterizations and rules. The characterizations may use computationally less intense analyses to characterize audio and only perform computationally higher intensity analysis if needed. Rule sets may be used to eliminate the need to track audio sources that emit audio to be eliminated from an audio output.
