摘要： A device for maintaining a layer of cooled air over a work area, comprising a zone for processing, presentation or laying out food, said zone having an upper surface, a lower surface, a front edge where a user is optionally positioned, and lateral edges, said zone being upwardly open and in contact on its upper and lower surfaces with a layer of cooled air, a means for generating a flow of cooled air to create a layer of cooled air, an air flow channeling circuit comprising a flow delivery opening above the zone, a recovery opening to capture the air flow passing over the zone, and a flow circulation conduit connecting the delivery and recovery openings, the flow circulation conduit passing below the lower surface of the zone, wherein the air flow delivery and recovery openings are disposed laterally so that the air flow circulates between the openings, and wherein the air flow circulation conduit has a substantially horizontal section delimited on its upper part by the lower surface of the zone and is attached laterally to two elbows for reorientation of the air flow, one of said elbows terminating at the delivery opening and the other of said elbows terminating at the recovery opening, both elbows situated substantially at the same height above the opposite lateral extremities of the zone, and wherein the zone has a work surface bordered by a removable strip for holding accessories.

摘要： A refrigerated showcase has a front opening through which a consumer can view and access foodstuffs on display. The foodstuffs are cooled by coolant air introduced through a slanted, perforated, interior panel located near a rear wall of the showcase. An air curtain directed downwardly at the front opening minimizes coolant air loss through the opening. Lips are applied and extended from edges of vertical sides of the access opening to reduce the loss of coolant air through the air curtain. Thus, relative flows of the coolant air and the air curtain are maintained inside the showcase.

摘要： A refrigerated food preparation table having a food preparation surface, a refrigerated food storage chamber, and a food plenum chamber adjacent to the food preparation surface. An air baffle assembly including a venturi restriction creates a resilient and uniform cool air curtain distributed across the top of food bins disposed within the food plenum chamber. One portion of the returning airflow, which is relatively warmer, having been exposed to higher ambient temperatures, circulates around the food bins and another portion of the returning airflow cools the refrigerated food storage chamber before entering a refrigeration coil/blower chamber to begin the cycle anew. The configuration maintains foodstuffs within the unit between 32.degree. and 40.degree. F.

The plates control the discharging direction of the cool air according to the opening and closing of a door. When the door is opened, the air curtain for preventing the leakage of cool air is generated by the plates. When the door is closed, the cool air is supplied at the area adjacent to the door and the inner spaces of the pockets formed at the door. Thus the foodstuffs in the cooling compartment are rapidly and uniformly cooled.

A crossflow fan is provided within the supply duct, and a supply port is formed at a terminal end of the supply duct adjacent to a door for the refrigerating room. The supply port is slit-shaped and extends along a width direction of the refrigerating room. At least one step is provided on a lower surface of the inside of the supply duct. The supply duct is communicated with a suction duct constituting a cooling system of the refrigerator. When the door is opened, the air curtain is formed over the open side of the refrigerating room to block the invasion of the surrounding air.

A plurality of downwardly directed jets around the upper periphery of the chest forces cold air into the bottom of the chest, thereby displacing warm air from the chest and into the ambient atmosphere. The cold air in the chest is drawn through an evaporator coil for further cooling and then returned to the jets at the upper periphery for a continued cooling of the chest.
