摘要： A condensing unit which includes a base plate having first and second oppositely disposed major surfaces. The base plate may include flanges disposed along the outer periphery of the base plate. A compressor mechanism and a condensing coil are mounted to the first major surface which faces a first direction. The flanges may also extend in the first direction. The second major surface may be substantially free of projections and define a bearing surface for the condensing unit. The motor of the compressor may have a main shaft which extends substantially parallel to the first major surface. The compressor may be a rotary compressor. There may be a conduit in fluid communication with the compressor and condensing coil and define together therewith a fluid circuit. Valves rotatably mounted on brackets and in fluid communication with the fluid circuit and operably couplable to an evaporator circuit may also be provided.

摘要： Techniques are described for improved line and clarity of sight for a freezer bank having multiple individual freezers. By selective angling of walls of the freezers, individual doors and the products behind those doors for two or more freezers can be more clearly seen with reduced glare. With this arrangement, more freezer doors can be as clearly seen as typical for product doors at an end of a row or an end of an aisle thereby improving the overall merchantability of a store's freezer section. Applications to a warehousing store environment are described in detail.

摘要： A point-of-sale display for selling containers of chilled food items includes a quadrilateral vessel having a bottom and end and side walls, the walls containing thermally insulating material. At least seven removable panels each of which contains a material that is liquid at room temperature and has a freezing point of about 32 degrees Fahrenheit or colder are configured to fit together to form vertical walls about at least one interior chamber in the vessel and sized to be placed into the vessel with two panels on opposed vessel ends, two panels each on opposed vessel sides and one panel extending between the vessel sides spaced from each vessel end, the panel extending between the vessel sides extending fully between the vessel sides and the panels on each vessel side together not extending fully along the side. The panels can be placed in a freezer below the freezing point of the liquid until the liquid freezes and then placed in the vessel to form an interior chamber in the vessel. Containers of food items to be sold may be loaded into the interior chamber and kept cold by their proximity to the panels.

摘要： An air cooling and control system for a refrigerated food merchandiser having an insulated cabinet with a product area having adjacent product zones, plural modular evaporator coil sections of substantially equal heat exchange potential and being of predetermined length and arranged in horizontal, spaced, end-to-end predetermined disposition and separate air moving means associated with each coil section and a corresponding product zone for circulating separate air flows through the coil sections and to the product area for cooling. The system further includes a first refrigerant metering valve for controlling liquid refrigerant flow on the high side of the evaporator sections, and a second refrigerant metering valve for controlling suction pressure and refrigerant vapor flow on the low side of the evaporator sections. An electronic control senses exit air temperatures downstream of the evaporator sections and operates the second metering valve in response thereto. In another aspect, a method of operating an electronic evaporator pressure regulating (EEPR) valve during the refrigeration and defrost modes of the controlled evaporator and in response to sensed air temperatures .

摘要： An improved ice cream dipping cabinet which readily permits visualization of frozen food product stored therein. The dipping cabinet has an inner box that is at least partially surrounded by an outer box. Cold, refrigerating air is circulated between the inner and outer boxes, cooling the inner box walls and the food product stored therein. The inner and outer boxes have an upper, transparent portion to permit visualization of food products stored within the inner box. The inner box has a door that is hermetically sealed to a top wall thereof to prevent moisture migration from the inner box. The outer box has an open top to permit access to the inner box door.
