The body has a distal writing tip located on a first side of a tubular bifurcation and a proximal end located on a second side of the bifurcation, distal from the distal writing tip. The distal writing tip has a frustoconical end and a tubular portion extending proximally from the frustoconical end. The tubular portion has a circumferential ridge adjacent the frustoconical end. The bifurcation has a diameter larger than the diameter of the tubular portion. The proximal end includes a plurality of fingers extending proximally from the bifurcation. Each of the plurality of fingers is biased toward the central axis. A method of using the writing instrument is also provided.

A process for manufacturing a colorized pen with high elasticity and plasticity comprises the following steps: mixing raw materials uniformly, then extrusion molding the same at 120° C.-250° C., cooling, curing and then cutting the same. The pen of the present invention has high elasticity and plasticity, is environmentally friendly and safe, and possesses a clear color during writing; its manufacturing process is simple and environmentally friendly, and it has a wide applicability and reliable safety.

The depression provides stability and comfort while using only the thumb and middle finger to write. The passive exclusion of the index finger from the process of gripping and moving the instrument provides a simpler dexterous hand coordination which can result in improved and faster handwriting.

The latching element has two opposite latching cantilever and each cantilever having a rib protruding therefrom. The shell is slidably accommodated in the receptacle and has two opposite latching slots defined therein. The latching slots latch with the protrusions to hold the stylus in a retracted state, and the latching slots latch with the ribs to hold the stylus in an extended state.
