摘要： A scented writing instrument may include a moveable barrel and a writing implement coupled to the moveable barrel. The writing implement may be adapted to emit a selective scent. The writing instrument may also include an outer casing and a top casing coupled to the moveable barrel. The outer casing may have an interior cavity configured to coupleably receive the writing implement and the moveable barrel. The top casing may be configured to extend the writing implement in an axial direction between a retracted position and an extended position. Related methods of manufacturing the scented writing instrument are also provided.

Preferably, the handle is configured to enable a user to contact a surface approximately parallel to the user's body with a marking element. Either the handle or connector can be arcuate, having an interior surface and an exterior surface. At least one connector is dimensioned to be received in the receiving area and the second end to receive a marking element.

The nose portion is connected to the barrel portion at the pivoting joint. The threaded screw is disposed in the barrel portion and threadably engages a plurality of threads. The cup is disposed in the nose portion and is adapted to carry a mass or instrument. The cup is rotationally fixed to the nose portion and the threaded screw such that rotation of the nose portion relative to the barrel portion causes axial displacement of the cup and the screw relative to the barrel portion. The flexible driveshaft extends between and is rotationally fixed to the threaded screw and the cup. The flexible shaft extends across the pivoting joint disposed at the connection between the nose portion and the barrel portion.
