摘要: A hydraulic fluid control valve (18) for a power steering gear (10) includes first and second relatively rotatable valve members (60, 62) which direct hydraulic fluid to flow between the valve members (60, 62) from inlet ports (70) to outlet ports (92). The valve members (60, 62) have radially opposed lands (71-79, 101-109) and grooves (81-89, 121-129) defining orifices (130) that enlarge and orifices (130) that constrict upon relative rotation of the valve members (60, 62) from neutral positions. A pair of the constricting orifices (130b, 130c) are located in parallel between the inlet ports (90) and the outlet ports (92). Each of those parallel constricting orifices (130b, 130c) is defined by a corresponding chamfered corner portion of a corresponding land (101, 102). The valve members (60, 62) provide back pressure at selected orifices between the outlet ports (92) and the inlet ports (90). The selected orifices at which back pressure is provided include only one (130c) of the pair of parallel constricting orifices (130b, 130c).

摘要: A valve for controlling flow of hydraulic fluid. The valve includes a valve sleeve and a valve core. The core is disposed within the sleeve. The core and sleeve are relatively rotatable. Each of said core and sleeve has an axially extending land and an axially extending groove. The core and sleeve have relative rotational positions such that the lands overlap to define a flow gap for flow of hydraulic fluid from the groove in the sleeve to the groove in the core. The flow gap has a minimum cross-sectional flow area adjacent to the groove in the core. The minimum cross-sectional flow area constantly varies as the core and sleeve relatively rotate. The land on the sleeve has a notch immediately adjacent to, and downstream of the minimum cross-sectional flow area which provides an abrupt increase in cross-sectional flow area for suppressing valve noise due to cavitation.

摘要: A power steering device includes an oil-hydraulic pump, an electric motor to drive the pump, an inverter, a control valve, a power cylinder to produce a steering assist, and a control unit to control the drive signal of the inverter. The control valve includes a pump port supplied with oil from the pump, a first and second cylinder ports connected to first and second cylinder chambers on sides of the piston, and a discharge port. Communication between the first cylinder port and the pump port and communication between the second cylinder port and the discharge port, and communication between the first cylinder port and the discharge port and communication between the second cylinder port and the pump port are established in steered status in the other direction. Communication among the pump port and first and second cylinder ports, and isolation of the discharge port from the pump port and first and second cylinder ports are established when the control valve is in neutral status.

摘要: A center-closed power steering system provides power steering assistance in engine-off conditions for reduced fuel consumption. The power steering system includes a hydraulic pump mechanically driven by the engine, a high pressure accumulator, a steering gearbox fluidly connected to the accumulator, and a center closed valve mechanically connected to a driver-operated steering wheel. The valve is configured to selectively control flow of pressurized fluid from the accumulator to the steering gearbox to provide power steering assistance. The inner shaft of the rotary center-closed valve is provided with a cavity with V-shaped notches on the transition surfaces on lands configured to sealingly engage the inner surface of the valve outer sleeve, in order to provide a smooth transition in flow for power steering assistance, and a better driver feel.

摘要: A control valve for a hydraulic power steering system includes a pair of flow circuits arranged in parallel. Each flow circuit includes an upstream and downstream flow orifices arranged in series. Each set of orifices defines between the orifices an intermediate pressure zone of the valve. Both orifices close together from a centered condition of the valve and fully close substantially together at a fully closed condition of the valve. The downstream orifice is larger than the upstream orifice when open to minimize the likelihood of cavitation and noise. An equalization passage fluidly connects both intermediate pressure zones to equalize pressure despite variations in orifice size due to manufacturing tolerances. The control valve includes a bypass passage in parallel with the flow circuits. A pressure relief valve in the control valve has a normally closed valving member in the bypass passage that opens the valve in the event of overpressure.

摘要: The present invention provides a hydraulic control valve and a power steering apparatus using the same in which chamfer portions are provided only on throttle portions between oil supply chambers and first oil feed chambers and between the oil supply chambers and second oil feed chambers, or only throttle portions between oil discharge chambers 11 and the first oil feed chambers and between the oil discharge chambers 11 and the second oil feed chambers. With this design, even if six or more oil grooves of each of a valve body and a valve spool are disposed at equal distances from one another, when the minimum flow rate to be controlled is reduced as small as possible, a distribution amount for one portion where the flow rate is controlled can be doubled as compared with a conventional structure, it is possible to stabilize the hydraulic characteristics in a region where the flow rate to be controlled is minimum, and to eliminate the discontinuity of the hydraulic characteristics.
