摘要： A set-up basket style article carrier has a bottom panel, first and second opposed sidewalls attached to the bottom panel, riser panels, a handle attached to the riser panels, transverse partition straps extending between the riser panels and sidewalls, and tapered end panels attached to the riser panels. A blank for the article carrier has a bottom panel, a sidewall joined to the bottom panel along a horizontal fold line, a handle assembly panel joined to the sidewall along a horizontal fold line, a tapered end panel joined to the sidewall along a vertical fold line and to the handle assembly panel along horizontally extending fold lines, and a riser panel joined to the end panel along a fold line offset from vertical to accommodate taper in the tapered end panel. Tapering the end panels permits slanting of the sidewalls so that the bottoms of the sidewalls are closer to the center riser panels than the top of the sidewalls, and the bottom area between the sidewalls, riser panels and transverse partition straps is smaller than the top area between the sidewalls, riser panels and transverse partition straps. A container traveling easily through the top area is grasped in the bottom area by a sidewall, riser panel and partition strap or end panel to reduce pressure exerted on the bottom panel and sagging thereby allowing thinner material to be used for the carrier.

Flaps connected to one or more opening edges are folded into the interior of the carrier so as to block the pricing bar code on adjacent articles without obstructing the view through the openings. The openings extend down to the bottom panel but do not interfere with connections to riser panels connecting a handle panel to the end panels. The openings also allow the carriers to fit into molded packing trays of the type which include inwardly extending reinforcing elements. The carrier is designed to allow the reinforcing elements to extend into the carrier through the carrier openings.

The blanks can be made with a minimum of waste material.

摘要： This invention relates to a basket carrier of the type where each of the carrier's cells is loaded through the carrier's open bottom, the bottom being closed by the carrier's floor after the carrier has been loaded. Preferably, at least one glue tab is foldably connected to one of the floor and the center wall, the glue tab being glued to the other of the floor and the center wall after the carrier has been loaded with bottles. This securely connects the carrier's center wall to the floor which enhances the vertical support for bottles within the carrier cells, and also which aids in maintenance of squared corners for the carrier during use.
