    摘要： A carton for packaging articles arranged in rows, includes a top panel (16/66), side panels (12/14, 18/20), a bottom panel (10/22) and an integral tear-open access feature (16/62/66) provided by the top panel and one of the side panels to gain access to the contents. The tear-open access feature is hingedly connected to the carton. When the carton is placed on the other side panel (18/20), the tear open access feature is foldable to be disposed in part in contact with the other side panel and in part spaced from the other side panel to provides a platform structure for enhancing the stability of the carton.

Both the alignment markings and contoured bottom flaps are die cut into the carton blank to insure uniform container alignment. Additional container features include employment of a hinged, partially detached top flap to accommodate use of the container to packaged bottles. Method steps are provided for forming the self-squaring container using the innovative features.
