    Abstract: A counter for counting elongate objects having a separating section which vibrates groups of elongate objects in order to separate such elongate objects and move them to a weighing device that determines the average weight of an elongate object in the lot to which this group belongs. Such average weight is then utilized to determine the number of elongate objects that are subsequently placed in a counting basked to be weighed. Optionally, a storage section retains groups of elongate objects and moves them to the separating section. Also optionally, the counting section, which contains the weighing device, is constructed with the capability of moving elongate objects to a delivery section.

    Abstract: A stacking system 1 has eleven pairs of right and left uprights (11, 12). They are supported upright by crosspieces (14, 15, 16), there being two straight crosspieces (14) and two cranked crosspieces (15, 16). The straight crosspieces have three pairs of uprights, whilst the crosspiece (15) has two pairs and the crosspiece 16 has three pairs. This particular arrangement allows five differing lengths of tubes T1-T5 of successively longer length to be stacked. The length of the tubes is parallel to an axis L. The uprights are square section tubular steel with slots (18) in their faces facing each other in their pairs. The slots extend from close above their lower ends to a little short of their upper ends, which are bevelled inwards (19) in the pairs.

    Abstract: A system for loading elongated members, such as metal tubes and bars, onto a conveyor for later processing features an elevator, pusher arms, a support surface provided at a predetermined height, and gripper arms. The elevator acts to lift a topmost layer of the members, which are typically arranged in a stack thereon, to a predetermined height so that the pusher arms may transfer the members forming the topmost layer onto the support surface at this height. The pusher arms push these members across the support surface by engaging the member farthest from the support surface until the respective elongated member passes over a distal side of the support surface and onto the gripper arms arranged at a height of this side. The gripper arms lower that member to an unloading location below the support surface where an empty support cradle of the conveyor is arranged for receiving same.

    Abstract: A rack feeds sticks of pipe to a machine for serial fusion to the trailing end of a pipeline. Multiple independent spaced apart feeders support transverse bundles of sticks of pipe on beams. Legs which support the beams above the ground have jacks to vary the height and slope of the beams. The slope is set so that sticks tend to roll toward the lower front end of the beam where roller assemblies receive the sticks of pipe as they are manually rolled, one at a time, off the beams. All of the rack components are modular and interchangeably connectable so that the feeder can be quickly adapted for a variety of conditions and applications. The level of the lead end of the pipe can be hydraulically adjusted for vertical orientation with the fusion machine and the pipe fed on by hydraulically powered roller to provide a single operator system.

    Abstract: Some illustrative embodiments of a fire tube implement for extraction and insertion of a fire tube may include an elongate shaft that is configured to extend outward and to be received within an opening in the fire tube.     Abstract: A method and device for moving racked tubulars, such as pipe and casing joints on pipe racks at oil and gas well sites. The pipe moving tool comprises a wheel assembly with a long straight handle. The wheels fit inside the pipe, which is then moved by simply pushing or pulling the handle forward or backward, as needed. Several wheel assemblies of different diameters may be used interchangeably with a single handle. An extension handle also may be included. The use of this tool makes moving the pipe safer as the worker's hands are not exposed to injury. Additionally, the handle on the tool makes it possible to easily and more safely reach and move shorter pipes racked above or below longer pipes in a multi-level pipe rack; it is not necessary for the worker to lean over or under the longer pipes.

    Abstract: A hose gripping apparatus enhances a grip on a pressurized hose by magnifying applied force form an operator and creating a larger gripping surface. At least one pressure pad engages the hose and includes a generally concave shape and rigid composition. The concave surface area of the pressure pad conforms efficiently to the hose surface. When wrapped around the pressurized hose, the pressure pad provides the structure and shape necessary to magnify the applied grip from an operator. The pressure pad includes an inner rigid member and a slip resistant coating, such as rubber. A pair of straps attach to the pressure pads in a perpendicular orientation. The straps wrap around the pressurized hose, joining at a hook and loop fastening material from each end. The tightness is easily manipulated by the operator without tools. A handle provides a large gripping surface and orientation for operation of the hose.
