摘要： In an apparatus for handling rolls of web material, a shaft bearing one or more fully wound rolls of web material thereon are supported from one end in a cantilever support. An external mandrel is aligned with a free end of the shaft. A roll-moving device is positioned to shift the rolls axially along the shaft away from the supported end of the shaft. The roll-moving device shifts the rolls of web material off the shaft and onto the aligned external mandrel, shaft or other support device. The weight of the roll of web material is borne by the shaft and external mandrel throughout the transfer. Once the shaft is removed, the rolls of web material can be handled during further processing from the core.

摘要： A reel hub (5), an inside rod (70) of which can slide axially when acted upon by a seizing rod (82), forms part of the transfer apparatus (3). By bringing the transfer apparatus opposite the hub of a rotating reel (21, 20), and by withdrawing the inside rod from the hub, the hub is disengaged from a machine (1), the reel continuing to rotate with its hub fixed to the transfer apparatus. This apparatus can then be moved in directions situated in the plane of rotation of the reel and brought opposite another shaft of the machine in order to reattach the hub there by reversing the foregoing procedure. A rotating reel, especially one paying out a strip of cigarette paper, can thus be moved without subjecting the strip of paper to any torsion. Other operations relating to the automatic operation of the machine are also possible with the aid of the transfer apparatus.

摘要： In a rolled object holdiing apparatus whose holding members hold both ends of a roll core, a roll core releasing device comprises a core pushing mechanism which in turn consists of a core pushing member and a driving means for moving the core pushing member at least in the direction of radius of the core. The core pushing mechanism is either installed in a core receiving member or in a core holding member. Whether to operate the driving means for the core pushing member is controlled by a core detector in the core receiving member. With this construction, the core releasing device of the invention performs automatic and reliable releasing of the core from holding members of the rolled object holding apparatus, thus eliminating various problems experienced with conventional devices during automatic replacement of rolled objects.

Each reel is mounted on a sleeve assembly including an axially slidable portion, spring biased in one direction, normally holding the clamps engaged with the reels. When one of the portions is forcibly moved axially to release its clamp, it engages and moves the slidable portion of the next adjacent sleeve assembly so that all reels may be released simultaneously.
