    摘要: To take blanks of sheets for producing laminated glass, from a cutting table, an adjustable takeoff roller onto which the sheet blanks are wound is used. To fix the beginning of the sheet blank to be taken off to the takeoff roller, openings for applying negative pressure are provided in the lateral surface of the takeoff roller. When a sheet blank is taken from the cutting table, the takeoff roller is brought into position at the beginning of the sheet blank to be taken off, the blank is fixed to the takeoff roller and the takeoff roller is then moved along the cutting table while rotating about its own axis, and so the sheet blank is wound up around the lateral surface of the takeoff roller. For laying down the sheet blank onto a glass pane during the production of laminated glass, a correspondingly reversed procedure may be used.

    摘要: A coreless roll of paper is formed by winding a web of paper around an elongated mandrel to form a roll of convolutely wound paper. The mandrel is formed from flexible and elastic material, and after the roll is wound, the mandrel is pulled longitudinally and withdrawn from the roll of paper to form a coreless roll.Alternatively, the mandrel can be pressurized to expand the mandrel radially before or during the winding of the web around the mandrel. After the roll is wound, the pressure in the mandrel is relieved so that the mandrel contracts radially, and the mandrel is withdrawn from the roll.A novel clasp is used to grasp and extract a tubular mandrel from the roll. The clasp includes a rigid shaft which is adapted to be inserted into a tubular mandrel. A plurality of clamping blocks are spaced radially outwardly from the shaft and are spaced circumferentially around the shaft. A plurality of actuators are engageable with the clamping blocks to move the clamping blocks radially inwardly toward the shaft whereby a mandrel can be clamped between the clamping blocks and the shaft.

A plurality of outwardly directed faces on the hub engage respective jaws and are angled such that relative rotation between the hub and the jaws radially displaces the jaws. A retaining screw extending along an axis of rotation of the shaft through the hub has a threaded shank seatable in the shaft and a head engageable axially in one direction with the hub. A cover disk axially fixed on the hub is formed on the axis with a hole of smaller diameter than the head of the screw. The screw head is captured axially between the disk and the hub.

    摘要: A roll supporting hub is adapted for acceptance of a plurality of rolls (one at a time), with each roll having a different predefined core width. The hub includes a hub body with a plurality of core support surfaces spaced circumferentially about a central rotation axis. One or more of those surfaces engage the core of the roll to secure the roll and hub together for coupled rotation. A stop surface on the hub body engages a first radial side of the core, while a radially retractable retainer surface engages a second radial side of the core. The retainer surface is secured to the hub body in one of a plurality of possible predefined axially disposed positions relative to the stop surface, each of which corresponds to one of the predetermined core widths of the roll being supported by the hub. The retainer surface is supported by a spring which is retractable within a slot extending axially between opposed support surfaces on the hub body.
