Abstract:
A link chain has alternating first and second links which are articulately connected to each other by universal joints. Each first link carries a gripper with a fixed jaw and a second jaw pivotable between first and second end positions through a dead-center intermediate position. Springs are provided to permanently bias each second jaw to either of the two end positions, and each second jaw is connected with a follower which can track a set of cams at two spaced-apart stations to move the second jaw between its end positions. Each link of the chain carries two shafts for pairs of roller followers which track the lateral edge faces of two flanges of an elongated guide rail having an H-shaped cross-sectional outline. The guide rail is bent and/or twisted, if necessary, to establish a helical, arcuate, looped and/or other complex path for advancement of successive links between the two stations. An additional follower of each link tracks the one or the other flange at one side of the web which connects the flanges of the rail to each other.
Abstract:
In a sheet stacking device, a first sheet storage portion and a second sheet storage portion are arranged in alignment in a width direction of a housing, and supported by the housing so as to move in a front-rear direction perpendicular to the width direction. Biasing members are respectively provided on opposite side surfaces of the first and second sheet storage portions, the opposite side surfaces being adjacent and face each other in the width direction. In a first state where the first and second sheet storage portions are moved frontward from the housing, the biasing members abut on each other and bias the first and second sheet storage portions in directions in which the first and second sheet storage portions separate from each other along the width direction.
Abstract:
An image recording apparatus includes: a casing; a sheet-feeder tray having a supporting surface for supporting a sheet-shaped recording medium; a recording unit which is configured to record an image on the recording medium fed from the sheet-feeder tray; a discharge roller pair configured to discharge, from the casing, the recording medium on which the image has been recorded by the recording unit; an opening-closing member which is provided on the downstream of the discharge roller pair in a direction in which the recording medium is discharged by the discharge roller pair and is rotatable between a first position where a discharging slot of the recording medium discharged by the discharge roller pair is closed and a second position where the discharging slot is open; and a restricting mechanism configured to restrict the rotation of the opening-closing member from the second position to the first position.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus is provided that can surely position a unit in an apparatus body with a simple configuration where the number of components is small. A drawing apparatus, which draws a sheet feeding cassette as a unit to a predetermined position of the apparatus body to position it, includes : a leaf spring that is an elastic member to jump-buckle; an engaging unit disposed in the leaf spring; and an engaged unit engaged with the engaging unit. When the unit is loaded on the apparatus body, the engaging unit engages the engaged unit, the elastic member jump-buckles, and accordingly the unit is drawn to the predetermined position of the apparatus body.
Abstract:
A medium mounting device includes a medium mounting portion for placing a medium in a stacked state in a first direction, and a medium regulating portion arranged to be rotatable relative to the medium mounting portion. The medium regulating portion is arranged to regulate an edge portion of the medium when the medium regulating portion is in a rising state relative to the medium mounting portion. The medium regulating portion in the rising state is arranged to abut against the medium to rotate and retreat when the medium is taken out in a second direction different from the first direction.

Abstract:
An apparatus for transporting objects may include a plurality of grippers having a first spacing at a first position and second spacing at a second position. A drive mechanism may be provided is for selectively displacing the grippers from the first position to the second position to adjust the spacing between the grippers.
Abstract:
A device that is usable for delivering printed products includes two bucket or paddle wheels that can rotate about two different axes of rotation. Each bucket or paddle wheel includes a plurality of scoop-type elements that can receive printed products from a first or a second product flow. A gripper chain is guided around the two different axes of rotation. Grippers are arranged on the gripper chain and can grip and printed products received in the scoop-type element to thereby remove the product from the scoop. At least one device that will open the grippers, for release of the printed products held by the grippers, is arranged along the path of travel of the gripper chain.
Abstract:
Folded signatures are delivered to a paddle wheel and then are transported to a plurality of distribution points by a gripper chain with a plurality of grippers. A controllable switching unit is provided at each distribution point in the form of a rotatable cam disk with switching cams. The rotatable cam disk at each distribution point is caused to rotate by an individual motor at a controlled speed and time. The speed of rotation of each cam disk can be greater than the speed of travel of the gripper chain so that the point of release of each signature can be accurately controlled.
