摘要: An image forming system includes an image forming apparatus and a sheet processing apparatus having a stacking unit, a moving unit, and a thermal compression bonding unit. The stacking unit includes a stack of plural sheet having an adhesive layer for bonding the plural sheets together. The thermal compression bonding unit includes a heating member having a heat generation area. In a case where a length of the adhesive layer regarding a longer-side direction of the heating member is greater than a length of the heat generation area, an entire area of the adhesive layer on the plural sheets is heated and pressed by applying heat and pressure to the adhesive layer more than once while changing, via the moving unit, a relative position of the plural sheets having been conveyed onto the stacking unit and the heat generation area regarding the longer-side direction of the heating member.

摘要: A sheet discharger includes a sheet discharge outlet, a discharge member, a sheet discharge tray, a sheet hold-down member, a drive portion, and a control portion. The sheet discharge tray is disposed downstream from the sheet discharge outlet with respect to a discharge direction and is a tray on which a sheet discharged through the sheet discharge outlet is loaded. The sheet hold-down member is swingable between a hold-down position at which the sheet loaded on the sheet discharge tray is held down at an upstream part thereof in the discharge direction and a retracted position retracted upward from the hold-down position. The drive portion drives the sheet hold-down member. The control portion determines, in accordance with characteristics of the sheet, whether or not to execute a sheet hold-down operation in which the sheet hold-down member is moved to the retracted position and to the hold-down position.

摘要: The sheet discharge device includes a sheet discharge port, a discharge member, a sheet discharge tray, a support member, a drive mechanism, and a controller. The discharge member conveys sheets in a discharge direction. On the sheet discharge tray, the sheets discharged from the sheet discharge port are to be stacked. The support member is movable by the drive mechanism between a projective position in which the support member is projected to above the sheet discharge tray so as to support the sheets, and a retractive position in which the support member has retracted from the projective position to an upstream side of the sheet discharge port. The controller is enabled to adjust at least one of a projective length of the support member in its projective position and a shift timing from the projective position to the retractive position in response to characteristics of the sheets.

In a first pressing position in which the first sheet presser member extends from above the detection sensor to below the detection region, and is brought into contact with the folded sheet of a minimum size stacked on the tray upper surface. When a stack number of the folded sheets has exceeded a specified number, the first sheet presser member is retracted upward from the first pressing position by the rise of the stack surface.

The drawing paddle includes a paddle rotation shaft disposed above the processing tray with a predetermined distance from the processing tray, and a paddle blade fixed to the paddle rotation shaft. The paddle blade is a laminated body including an elastic sheet to be in contact with the sheet to be post-processed and a reinforcing sheet reinforcing the elastic sheet. The elastic sheet has a first length longer than the predetermined distance and the reinforcing sheet has a second length shorter than the predetermined distance.

摘要: A sheet binding device according to an embodiment includes a tape attachment unit and a sheet support unit. The tape attachment unit includes a tap holding unit configured to hold tape that is to be applied to an edge portion of a sheet bundle at a tape attachment region of the edge portion. The sheet support unit holds the sheet bundle in a state where multiple sheets forming the sheet bundle are shifted relative to each other in the edge portion when the tape is applied by the tape attachment unit. The sheet support unit also presses, in a sheet bundle thickness direction, a pressing region of the edge portion different from the tape attachment region so that there is substantially no slack along the edge portion of the sheet bundle between the pressing region and the tape attachment region.

When the first operation portion and/or the second operation portion is located at an operated position, the plate is located at a second position where the first and second plate engaging portions are respectively spaced apart from the first and second guide engagement portions.

The control section performs first and second transports for switchback-transporting a sheet.
