摘要： The compressive orthosis comprises a leg portion (16) in a compressive knit suitable for delivering degressive therapeutic retention. The compressive knit comprises a net type knit knitted with a weft thread (22) of elastic material, advantageously in combination with at least one background thread (24, 26, 28), likewise in elastic material, and of smaller weight than the weft thread. The assembly forms a deformable array of substantially hexagonal cells (30) which, on being deformed, present greater elastic return force in the horizontal direction (H) than in the vertical direction (V).

摘要： A therapeutic stocking for applying compressive force to the wearer's leg having an integrally knit anti-slip feature on the foot portion. The anti-slip feature being knit of bare and covered elastomeric yarns. The anti-slip feature further having an instep portion and a sole portion having greater frictional characteristics than the instep portion. The sole portion being knit in a repeating pattern having courses of knit and float stitches of a covered elastomeric yarn and jersey courses of a bare elastomeric yarn. The bare elastomeric yarn being substantially on the exterior surface of the sole portion yielding a friction surface which is located to contact the floor beneath the wearer's foot and minimize slippage thereon.

摘要： Elastomeric yarn is incorporated in regularly repeated certain courses throughout the leg and foot portion of the sock. The certain courses in which the elastomeric yarn is incorporated in the foot portion are closer together than the certain courses in which the elastomeric yarn is incorporated in the leg portion so that the density of elastomeric yarn is greater in the foot portion than the density of the elastomeric yarn in the leg portion. The greater density of elastomeric yarn in the foot portion provides a snug fit, provides greater compressive support in the foot portion than in the leg portion, and aids in the stimulation of blood flow from the foot and up the leg of the wearer.

摘要： A full length stocking of knitted fabric including elastomeric yarn which in the boot portion exerts a compressive effect on the wearer''s leg normally gradually decreasing from the ankle to a point well above the knee, that improvement wherein, in the knee area, the compressive effect is reduced to provide an area of reduced but still substantial pressure support in the zone including the knee to a level of pressure, preferably, of less than about 10 mm of mercury and less than the pressure below the knee area, preferably 20 to 80 percent thereof, so that a reduced pressure is exerted on the knee area to avoid restricting pressures on the veins in the sensitive popliteal space, the compressive pressure being increased again above the knee area and thereafter gradually being decreased to the top of the stocking boot. The stocking may be circularly knit, fullfashioned knit, or cut and sewn from a variety of fabrics including powernet, jersey knit with elastomeric inlay, jersey knit with alternating courses of knit and float elastomeric yarn, and all jersey knit with alternating courses of elastomeric yarn. Optional features include an automatic toe-inspection welt, a garter type top and a thigh enlarging insert.

Bare elastomeric polyurethane yarn is knitted into alternate courses of a compressive fabric with nylon body yarn of lighter weight than that forming the intervening courses, the polyurethane yarn being substantially embedded in the fabric. The polyurethane yarn which is non-foamed and may be mono- or multi-filament may be knitted circularly e.g. on a two or four feed machine. As shown the welt of stocking S is knitted at two feeders from two ends of 40 denier filament crimped or textured nylon yarn and the shadow welt 12 with two ends of 40 denier texturised yarn. When knitting the leg portion 14 the main feed supplies 40 denier raw nylon yarn (courses 22, 24, Fig. 2,) and the auxiliary station supplies 20 denier raw nylon yarn 26 and a bare 70 denier elastomeric polyurathane yarn 28 stretched approximately 225%. Alternatively, one feed may supply 50 denier raw nylon yarn while the other feed supplies either 30 denier raw nylon yarn and 70 denier polyurethane yarn or 20 denier raw nylon yarn and 140 denier polyurethane yarn. The ankle may be shaped by increasing the tension in the nylon yarn without altering the tension in the polyurethane yarn.
