摘要： A fireplace enclosure consisting of a rectangular-shaped frame formed by spaced pairs of top and bottom and side frame members clamped together by a pair of tie rods, whereby an opening is formed to provide access into the firebox of a fireplace. A pair of bifold doors are movably mounted on the frame for opening and closing the access opening. The doors each include a frame and a pair of safety glass panels held in channels formed in the frame by ribbon spring steel strips. The doors are pivotally removably mounted on spring clips attached to the top and bottom channel members for movement between open and closed positions. Low friction guide rollers are mounted on the door frames and slidably engage the top and bottom frame members and V-shaped spring clips attached thereto to assist in opening and closing the doors and to provide support for the doors. A draft diverter plate may be mounted on the bottom member of the frame to provide drafts to the firebox. A heavy gauge metal mesh curtain may be mounted on the top member of the frame to guard against sparks emitted from the firebox.

摘要： In order to eliminate flue gases generated in combustion of fuels in heating stoves a heating stove (1) is designed with a duct (14) above the fireplace (5) and closeable by means of a damper (16), whereby the flue gases pass through the bed of embers generated during combustion. A hearth (6) for the bed of embers is designed with obliquely set flat surfaces (26) for attaining of a concentrated bed of embers. There is located in the combustion chamber (58) of the heating stove (1) below the hearth (6) an aperture (9), which communicates with flue ducts (11), which communicate in turn with a flue (20), which discharges the flue gases from the heating stove. By means of a filling hatch (15) access can be gained to the interior of the said duct (14) to fill the heating stove and its fireplace with fuel. By means of regulating devices (17), which are in connection with the damper (16) and at least one front hatch (3 ) displaying the heating stove (1), there is achieved a regulation of the damper that is controlled by the front hatch, whereby when the front hatch is opened then the damper is opened and when the front damper is closed then the damper is closed and shuts the said duct (14).

摘要： The invention relates to a fireplace insert having unique characteristics of a fiberglass insulated twin wall construction engineered to work on the principle of air convection. Cold air is drawn into a bottom inlet, circulated through channels between the firebox and an air shroud or air casing, and forced through outlets at the top of the unit back into the room. A controllable damper cuts down the heat carried up the chimney, and an air tight door controls the amount of in-house air drawn to feed the fire, and hence, the amount of heat that escapes up the chimney.

摘要： Fireplace heat transfer apparatus includes a main inner panel assembly adapted to be positioned across any opening to a fireplace and an auxiliary outer panel assembly pivotally mounted to the main assembly. The main assembly includes an inner transparent plate of glass and the auxiliary assembly includes an outer transparent plate of glass. The outer glass plate is thicker than the inner glass plate. The mounting relationship of the auxiliary frame to the main frame maintains the outer plate of glass in a spaced relationship to the inner plate of glass so as to define a heat transfer chamber between them. The auxiliary and main assemblies have respective frame structures which closes the chamber at its sides but provides the chamber with an open top and bottom for communicating the chamber with ambient air in the room surrounding the fireplace. By pivoting the auxiliary assembly about an axis defined across its lower end and relative to the main assembly the volume of the chamber may be changed in order to change the rate of convective thermosiphon flow of heated ambient air up through the chamber.

摘要： A fireplace cap includes a pair of hinged doors supported by a rectangular framework of first and second side rails, a header section, and a damper section. The components forming the framework are formed with flanges positioned at the rear of the cap for reinforcing purposes and to act as heat exchangers, picking up heat from a fire within the fire box of the fireplace. This cap can be easily custom fit to fireplaces having fire boxes of various sizes by selecting appropriate components for the framework. A top piece mounted to the header section may serve as a cooking surface. The doors may include optional glass plates supported for easy removal by angle members mounted to the back side of the doors. A latching mechanism, including eccentrically mounted latching arms, holds the doors tightly closed when latched. The top piece and side rails define sealing material receiving pockets and include retainers for holding sealing material to seal the cap against the front of the fireplace. Adjustable damper controls, together with an external lever actuated control for the existing damper of the fireplace, are utilized to control the flow of combustion air into the fire box. A removable key or handle is provided for the latching mechanism so that it may be stored in a cool location or out of the reach of children for safety purposes.

摘要： A device is provided for heating a room by convection using the heat from a conventional radiation heat source. The heating device further acts as a fireplace guard when the heat source is a fire to substantially prevent sparks or other small particles of combustion from entering the room in which the fireplace is located. The device includes a threshold unit and a plurality of spaced pipes. The pipes are supported by the threshold unit while a screen member such as metal gauze is connected between the pipes. An opening in the threshold unit is adjacent the floor surface of the room in which the heat source is located. The radiation from the heat source raises the temperature of the pipes while relatively cool air enters the opening in the threshold unit and passes into the pipes. The temperature of the air is increased by the heated pipes and exits from the top thereof to heat the room by convection. The threshold unit can comprise a number of separate units which are joined together by a hinge construction so that the length of the threshold unit can be varied and also to permit access to the radiant heat source.
