Abstract:
In a method of forming images on respective upper and lower surfaces of a copy sheet in accordance with a page order of an odd number of documents, the documents are sequentially fed from the final page two at a time, and every other image is sequentially formed on the sheets. Subsequently, the documents are fed again from the final page, a noncopied sheet is fed to form the final image on one surface before the every other images are formed on the sheets each having an image on one surface. Finally, the images are formed on the other surfaces of the sheets each having the image on one surface in an order of a count-down sequence of the pages.
Abstract:
In methods for operating a printer a sheet is provided in a printing path leading to a printing area, a receiver is provided having a cross edge to which a printed image is to extend in the printing path for movement with the sheet. The receiver and the sheet are moved through the printing area so that the cross edge is moved through printing area during transfer of a toner to form the print image. The receiver and the sheet are further moved through the printing area with the cross edge of positioned on the sheet to separate a portion of the sheet that is masked from transfer of the print image from an unmasked portion of the sheet and the unmasked portion of the sheet is positioned to receive any portion of the print image that is transferred when the receiver is not in the printing area.
Abstract:
Methods are provided for forming a combination print having an image thereon. In accordance with one aspect, a first receiver is provided having a first side with a toner in an overlap area and the first receiver is overlapped with a second receiver overlapping the first receiver; and the first receiver and second receiver are moved in the overlapped position past a print engine so that an image is formed on the combination of the first receiver and the second receiver with contiguous application of toner forming the image applied across the first receiver and the second receiver, the first receiver and second receiver are fused to bind the prints together and to fix the toner to form a combination print having a continuously applied image.
Abstract:
This disclosure provides a printing apparatus and method including a media sheet registration system, a fuser roll assembly and a fuser roll RDS (registration distribution system). The media sheet registration system steers media sheets to alternative target positions to smooth fuser roll edge wear area profiles associated with the RDS and media sheets passing through the fuser roll assembly.

Abstract:
An image forming apparatus has: character data forming means for forming character data; synthesizing means for synthesizing the character data formed by the character data forming means with image data; image output means for printing a synthesis result of the synthesizing means onto a sheet; sheet post-processing means for performing a post-process to the sheet outputted by the image output means; and adjusting means for adjusting a printing position of the character data and a processing position of the sheet post-processing means.
Abstract:
An image recording apparatus including a document size detection sensor for recognizing a size of an image to be recorded, an image input section for reading and storing therein the image to be recorded, a paper feeder for feeding recording paper having a specified size, an image forming section for forming an image on recording paper fed from the paper feeder, a control means for calculating a number of sheets of recording paper to be recorded from said total number of pages, an image processing section for executing image processing for displacing a central position of each image so that an edge section of each image will be aligned to an edge of a binding space of each discrete sheet of recording paper, and an image output section for outputting an image processed by the image processing section 108.
Abstract:
A copying machine wherein an orginal is exposed to light by the movement of a document table or an optical system to form an electrostatic latent image on a photoconductive drum at an image forming station, and the latent image is developed and then transferred from the drum to copy paper at a transfer station. The machine has a detector for producing an output upon detecting that the optical system has reached a predetermined position subsequent to the starting end of the original during the exposure, a timer for measuring a specified period of time from the time the detector produces the output, and a drive device for initiating a paper transporting device into operation in response to an input from the timer, the distance of transport of the paper from the transporting device to the transfer station being smaller than the distance from the image forming station to the transfer station along the periphery of the drum. A margin of specified width is formed at the leading end of the paper to render the paper transportable through the machine with improved characteristics.
Abstract:
An improved copying apparatus for copying by shifting images by a desired distance, and also for copying the central portion of a copy paper sheet according to copying factors such as the copy paper sheet sizes, original document sizes and copying magnifications.
Abstract:
In a flash-on-the-fly, web-type copier, copy sheets fed to a transfer station are adjusted to align such sheets with transferable document images formed on the web to compensate for positional deviations of such document images from nominal or expected image positions.
