摘要： The present disclosure relates to a sheet processing system allowing a user to easily remove a sheet from a sheet pressure bonding unit when a jam occurs. A control method for the sheet processing system includes conveying a sheet, pressurizing, for a predetermined time, a plurality of conveyed sheets by a pressurizing unit, detecting an occurrence of a jam of the conveyed sheet or sheets, and controlling the pressurizing unit to release a pressurized state by the pressurizing unit even if the predetermined time has not elapsed in a case where the occurrence of the jam is detected while the plurality of sheets is being pressurized.

摘要： Copy sheets having a re-fusable xerographic toner along an edge thereof are bound into booklets by arranging the sheets in a stack and re-fusing the toner so that the re-fused toner adheres adjacent sheets together. The re-fusing operation can be accomplished after each group of a few sheets is received from a copier so that the finisher operation can be carried on at the same rate copies are produced by the copier. Alternately, a larger stack of sheets can be bound together in an off-line basis by a simple heating step.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit to form an adhesive toner pattern in a predetermined bonding range of a sheet, outside a printable range in which an image according to image data is formed, a stacking unit to stack multiple sheets one on top of another, and a sheet binding device that includes a fusing device to fuse and fix the adhesive toner pattern formed on the multiple sheets to bind the multiple sheets together, and a bonding strength setting unit to determine, in accordance with a desired bonding strength, at least one of a number of color toners used for forming the adhesive toner pattern, a bonding manner, a number of pixels of the adhesive toner pattern, a toner area ratio of the adhesive toner pattern, and a layer thickness of the adhesive toner pattern.

Content sheets (5) (e.g. A4) are then printed and stacked at a collection station and the complete stack (5b) is then folded into the envelope sheet (1) as rollers (15, 16) press and seal the toner borders together, delivering a sealed and addressed finished envelope packet (1b) in a single line from a standard printer using standard paper sizes in standard magazines. The invention includes the add-on unit, the printer with add-on and the enveloping method.

摘要： An image forming apparatus with a binding function wherein small bands of toner are deposited on paper sheets, a plurality of said sheets are then stacked and thereafter said small bands of deposited toner are fused, thereby binding said sheets.In order to form said small bands of toner on an electrostatic latent image carrier, the present invention is provided with a charger disposed between an exposure position and the developing position so as to be movable perpendicularly to the paper transport direction, an optical shutter disposed in the image exposure optical path and selectably operable, or a scale disposed at one side of a platen glass for preventing light from reaching the image carrier.Said small band of toner formed on the image carrier may be developed by a special toner such as waste toner removed from the surface of the image carrier after being supplied to copy the original document image, white toner, color toner, or highly self-adhesive toner.The apparatus may further comprises controller for controlling the apparatus so as not to form the binding toner on a suitable cover sheet of the sheet stack.The width of the binding toner deposited on the sheet may be controlled so as to be variable by changing the timing for transporting sheets toward a transfer station.

摘要： An image forming system includes an image forming apparatus and a sheet processing apparatus having a stacking unit, a moving unit, and a thermal compression bonding unit. The stacking unit includes a stack of plural sheet having an adhesive layer for bonding the plural sheets together. The thermal compression bonding unit includes a heating member having a heat generation area. In a case where a length of the adhesive layer regarding a longer-side direction of the heating member is greater than a length of the heat generation area, an entire area of the adhesive layer on the plural sheets is heated and pressed by applying heat and pressure to the adhesive layer more than once while changing, via the moving unit, a relative position of the plural sheets having been conveyed onto the stacking unit and the heat generation area regarding the longer-side direction of the heating member.

A toner edge shield forms a first end confronting a second edge that extends from a first side of the first receiver to at least about 50% of the thickness and that has a deflection surface that slopes toward a second end.

摘要： Toner is applied to a receiver having an area to be folded and a separate area not to be folded. Non-fold and fold-area screening patterns are selected. The non-fold screening pattern has a toner coverage greater than 50% and the fold-area screening pattern has a toner coverage less than 50%. Image data to be applied to the receiver in the area to be folded and the area not to be folded are received. The image data in the area not to be folded are processed using the non-fold screening pattern and the image data in the area to be folded are processed using the fold-area screening pattern to provide screened data. Toner corresponding to the screened data is applied to the receiver. The applied toner is fused to the receiver, so that the area to be folded includes fused toner.

摘要： In methods for operating a printer a sheet is provided in a printing path leading to a printing area, a receiver is provided having a cross edge to which a printed image is to extend in the printing path for movement with the sheet. The receiver and the sheet are moved through the printing area so that the cross edge is moved through printing area during transfer of a toner to form the print image. The receiver and the sheet are further moved through the printing area with the cross edge of positioned on the sheet to separate a portion of the sheet that is masked from transfer of the print image from an unmasked portion of the sheet and the unmasked portion of the sheet is positioned to receive any portion of the print image that is transferred when the receiver is not in the printing area.
