摘要： A tape cassette has a case with upper and lower halves and an open space at the front thereof. A magnetic tape housed in the case is wound around a pair of reels. A brake is slidably mounted on the inner surface of the lower half of the case to prevent the reels from being rotated. Part of a spring is attached to the brake. The spring has free ends and urges the brake in a direction. A device for positioning the spring includes a partition wall on the inner surface of the lower half of the case which partitions the open case from the inside of the case. An independent abutment member on the partition wall abuts the free ends of the spring.

摘要： A tape cassette for a magnetic recording and/or reproducing apparatus, such as a video tape recorder. The cassette has at least one reel contained in a cassette casing formed with an opening through which a magnetic tape wound on the reel can be withdrawn from the casing for the recording of signals thereon or the reproducing of signals therefrom. A pivotally mounted member disposed within the casing comprises a brake lever for preventing the reel from rotating when the cassette is not in use. A helical compression spring normally urges the pivotally mounted member to rotate so as to bring the brake lever into engagement with teeth formed on a flange of the reel, and means is provided to overcome the action of the spring and release the brake lever from the reel when the cassette is to be used.

In one embodiment the tape guide member integrally formed on the brake member is distant from the pivotal axis of the brake member so as to alter the length of the tape path when the brake member is rotated.

摘要： In a cassette for use in a magnetic recording and/or reproducing apparatus, a housing contains rotatable reels on which a resiliently flexible tape is wound and the housing has an access opening extending along a side thereof through which the tape can be withdrawn for the recording and reproducing of signals thereon, guide members within the housing adjacent the opposite ends of the opening direct the tape between the reels in a path including a run extending along the opening and path portions extending from adjacent the ends of such opening tangentially to the outer turns of said tape wound on the respective reels, and at least one tape shifting member acts against a face of said tape in a respective one of the path portions. Each tape shifting member is mounted for movement in a course spaced from the adjacent guide member and is resiliently urged to a normal position in which the tape shifting member produces a bend in the related path portion between the respective guide member and reel so that turning of that reel in the tape unwinding direction enlarges the tape bend due to the resilient flexibility of the tape and transmission of the resulting slack in the tape to the tape run across the access opening is avoided. The tape shifting member is deflected from its normal position by the tape in response to a substantial tension in the latter for removing the bend from the respective path portion.

摘要： A hub lock releasing structure for a tape recorder has a releasing pin for releasing a hub from a locked state by pressing a hub locking member installed on a tape cassette in one direction as the tape cassette settles on a deck. The releasing pin is integrally formed with the deck. In the hub lock releasing structure, since the releasing pin is integrally formed with the deck, the number of necessary components can be reduced and the assembly process can be simplified. A method of fabricating a releasing pin for the hub lock releasing structure comprises providing a deck in the tape recorder for receiving a tape cassette, partially cutting a portion of the deck, and bending the cut portion of the deck upward to form the releasing pin.
