摘要： Animal-activated feeding systems and methods. The systems include a self-sealing valve assembly that, responsive to activation of a feed-flow activation member by an animal, selectively delivers a flow of the liquid feed to a vessel for consumption by the animal. The valve body further includes a valve member, which is configured to selectively obstruct the feed flow path, and a feed-flow activation member coupled to the valve member. The feed-flow activation member and valve member are selectively positionable between at least a sealed position and a range of activated positions. The valve assembly may include a buoyant activation restriction member adapted to restrict at least further or subsequent activation of the valve assembly responsive to the level of liquid feed in the vessel. The valve assembly may be configured to dispense the feed in a confined stream and/or in a generally horizontal or lateral direction into the vessel.

摘要： An animal actuated drinking fountain has an electronic circuit for operating a pump to supply water to an animal. The fountain has a housing with a container for holding the water. A pump receives water from the container and has an upward directed discharge port for creating a fountain of water. A light emitter and light sensor are positioned so a beam of pulsed light is positioned above the surface of the water in the container. When the animal interrupts the beam of pulsed light, electronic circuitry causes the pump to turn on and create a fountain of water for the animal to drink.

摘要： The present invention provides an animal waterer having an animal alignment guide attached to the water supply line near the juncture of the terminal conduit and the nipple valve. The guide includes an interior portion attached to the water supply line and a pair of guide wings extending out on opposite lateral sides of the nipple valve about the same distance as the trigger of the nipple valve. The vertical position of the nipple valve is adjustable so that the nipple valve can be easily and quickly positioned at the most efficient drinking height for the size of animal being watered. One embodiment of the waterer includes a waterer fed by a flexible feed line, and supported by a chain to freely swing at an elevation of about two inches above the backs of the animals. A second swinging embodiment includes a suspension bracket which extends up from the vertical axis of the supply line for connection with a chain so that the waterer will hang straight. Also, this second embodiment uses a single triangular bend in the terminal conduit so that the terminal conduit is inclined downwardly and has no horizontal sections. This configuration eliminates the buildup of excess galvanizing material in the interior of the terminal conduit when the unit is submersed in and withdrawn from the vat of zinc galvanizing material during the plating process.

摘要： A poultry watering cup valve for controlling the flow of water from a water feed line to a poultry watering cup includes, generally, a substantially hollow valve housing extending from the watering cup for engaging the water feed line, and an improved valve seal positioned within the feed line and over the end of the valve housing opposite the watering cup. A shaft extending through the valve housing supports the valve seal adjacent a valve inlet aperture. In one preferred form, the valve seal includes an integral O-ring which can prevent fluid flow from the feed line through the valve inlet aperture. In another preferred form, the valve seal is provided a second integral O-ring which, like the first O-ring, can also prevent fluid flow from the feed line through the valve inlet aperture.
