The end points of a break line formed in the peeling foil and passing over the object joins into each of the recesses.

A form having a plurality of labels includes a label section having a label ply with at a plurality of discrete labels separated from one another by lines of separation and a release ply having a strip die cut therein. The strip is oriented to connect two or more of the labels and spans the lines of separation. Preferably, two elongated parallel strips are provided each having a transverse line of weakness. The labels may be removed from the form with the strip or strips connecting the labels. The strips may be peeled away from the adhesive covered back of the labels, but because the strips cover only a small portion of the back of each label and are positioned within the borders of the labels, the labels may be applied to a substrate, such as a prescription drug container, with the strips still attached. The strips include transverse lines of weakness which permits some or all of the labels to be separated from one of the labels during removal from the form. The lines of weakness are positioned in offset relationship to the lines of weakness, whereby the remainder of the strip is within the borders of the labels and no part of the strip is visible from the upper surface of the removed labels when applied to the container or other substrate.

The present invention provides an adhesive tape for laminating a first substrate to a second substrate, wherein the adhesive tape includes a carrier having on a first major surface a first adhesive layer and having on a second major surface opposite to the first major surface in the order given a non-tacky polymer layer and a second adhesive layer, wherein the adhesive tape is capable of being adhered to the first substrate by the first adhesive layer and to the second substrate by the second adhesive layer. The adhesive tape is capable of delamination between the carrier and the non-tacky polymer layer when the first and second substrate are peeled away from each other so as to leave the carrier on the first substrate and the non-tacky polymer layer on the second substrate with a major surface of the non-tacky polymer layer or the carrier. The non-tacky polymer layer and carrier are not co-extruded layers. The present invention further provides a method for manufacturing the adhesive tape and the use of the adhesive tape for placing inserts in a multi-page publication.

The invention relates to a hot peel carrier for decorative graphics and lettering applied to a substrate wherein the carrier has a film having opposite surfaces and an adhesive having a peel strength which decreases with increasing temperature, the adhesive being on a surface of the plastic film. The invention also provides a laminate for use in applying graphics to a substrate which incorporates the carrier, methods of using and methods of using the carrier and laminate disclosed herein. The various embodiments disclosed herein incorporating the aforementioned hot peel carrier have significant advantages stemming from the fact that immediate after a graphic is heat applied to a substrate, the adhesive of the carrier has substantially no adhesion to either the substrate or to the heated adhered graphic.

A heat-transfer label including a non-wax, non-silicone release layer for use in decorating an article without leaving a visually discernible release residue on the decorated article. In a preferred embodiment, the label includes a transfer portion comprising a protective lacquer layer, an ink design layer over the protective lacquer layer, and a heat-activatable adhesive layer over the ink design and protective lacquer layers, the adhesive layer extending beyond the peripheries of the ink design and protective lacquer layers. The label also includes a support portion, the transfer portion being positioned over the support portion for transfer of the transfer portion from the support portion to an article upon the application of heat to the support portion while the transfer portion is placed in contact with the article. The support portion includes a carrier, the carrier preferably being a polyester film. The support portion also includes a non-wax, non-silicone release layer positioned over the carrier and in direct contact with the protective lacquer layer and the periphery of the adhesive layer.
