    摘要: A vehicle seat including a seatback, and headrest including a shell member. A release mechanism is mounted to the shell member. The release mechanism selectively locks the headrest relative to the seatback. An actuator system extends between the seatback and the headrest. The actuator system includes a sleeve having a first end fixedly connected relative to the seatback, a second end fixedly connected relative to the headrest shell, and an intermediate portion defining a longitudinal length of the sleeve, and a cable extending through the sleeve. The cable has a first end section arranged in the seatback and a second end section coupled to the release mechanism. The longitudinal length of the sleeve includes a first dimension when the seatback is in an upright position and the longitudinal length has a second, longer dimension, when the seatback is in a folded configuration.

    摘要: A turnable headrest includes a headrest body and a headrest rod. The headrest body is wrapped around and hinged to a horizontal rod of the headrest rod, and two vertical rods of the headrest rod are inserted into a seat. The turnable headrest further includes a fixed tooth, a torsion spring, a rotary tooth, and a reset tension spring. A headrest body locking portion, a headrest body rotary tooth portion, and a turned headrest body locking portion are disposed on the fixed tooth. A rotary tooth portion is disposed on the rotary tooth. When the rotary tooth portion is mated with the headrest body locking portion on the fixed tooth, the headrest body is locked at an initial use position. When the rotary tooth portion is mated with the headrest body rotary tooth portion on the fixed tooth, the headrest body is at a turnable position. When the rotary tooth portion is mated with the turned headrest body locking portion on the fixed tooth, the headrest body is locked at a flat position. The turnable headrest has advantages such as a strong self-locking ability, a small quantity of parts, a simple structure, and low costs.

    摘要: An improvement to foldable headrests remote actuators by providing a tube mounted spring compensator to facilitate movement between a stowage position and an operating position. The spring compensator is inserted concentrically within the hollow tubes that support the adjustable headrests to boost or compensate for the lack of force routinely experienced under cold weather use or aging of materials. The spring compensator is positioned inside the headrest support tube to help pull the cable up through the seat when the seat and headrest are returned from a stowage position to a passenger seating position. The spring compensator inside the headrest support tube allows the use of a smaller torsion spring in the headrest and reduces the stress on the components in the mechanism.

    摘要: An automotive head restraint apparatus includes a housing having a padded and upholstered exterior, the housing being rotatable about a lateral support tube that supports a lock plate having a lobe extending radially with a detent slot extending therein. A latch finger extends from a pivotable lock lever plate to releasably engage in the detent slot to latch the housing in the deployed position. A pull rod is secured to the lock lever plate, and is connected to a release lever arm at its other end. A shape memory alloy (SMA) wire loop is passed about a drive pulley that is supported by a reciprocally translatable slide. A drive arm extends from the slide to impinge on the release lever and raise the pull rod when the SMA wire loop is energized and contracted, thereby releasing the latch finger to rotate the housing to the retracted position.
