    摘要： A rail fastening system for securing rails to rail ties in which an elastic fastener is used. The fastener has one portion which lies on the rail flange and a second portion which seats within a support secured to the rail tie. The fastener comprises a base portion which seats within the support and two tapered arms which are curved over the base so that the free ends of the tapered arms lie on the rail flange. The support is located adjacent the rail flange and a locking element fits between the rail flange and the support and is shaped to interfit with the support in a wedge-like relationship such that longitudinal rail movement acting on the locking element is translated into a lateral force to prevent longitudinal rail movement.

    摘要： A system including method and apparatus for conveying and orientating tie plates for use with a railway track renewal or construction machine designed to run along a railway track. The system provides a delivery of tie plates to mechanisms for positioning and laying the plates on new or reconditioned ties adjacent both ends of each tie with the field side of the tie plate facing outwardly. A first longitudinally directed power driven conveyor is located centrally with its inlet end in a gondola car used to store the tie plates. This conveyor is divided along its longitudinal center by a wall to provide a means for conveying two adjacent lines of tie plates. The tie plates are introduced to this first conveyor on both sides of the dividing wall with the plates facing upward and the field end of the plates facing forward. A pair of second longitudinally directed power driven conveyors are located on the track working machine downstream of and outwardly from the first conveyor and at a lower level. Two undriven curved roller conveyors are arranged to receive one each of the lines of plates from the exit end of the first driven conveyor and to deliver the plates transversely outward and downward to separate ones of the two second power driven conveyors for delivery to the laying mechanisms.

    摘要： In a railroad spike driving machine, the spike driving mechanism is centered over a spike by a system which provides simultaneous proportional control over both the vertical and horizontal positions of the spike driver. The driver is mounted on a carriage whose position is adjustable according to signals derived from the deflection of a control arm. Strain gauges mounted on the control arm sense the push or pull of the operator to adjust the carriage position. The speed of the drive stroke of the hydraulic spike driver is governed by a proportional control valve which is in turn controlled by a signal generated from a trigger switch on the control arm.

    摘要： A method of and rail anchor applicator for practicing the method of applying either one or two rail anchors to a rail with the anchors abutting the sides of a tie. The applicator includes magazines for holding rail anchors and positive feed means for delivering the anchors from the magazines and holding them for removal by the anchor applying means. Anchor applying shoes are adapted to remove the anchors from the feed means and apply them to a rail against opposite sides of a tie in a continuous operation. The anchors are applied and fully seated on the rail base in one operation with a minimum of ballast disturbance and a minimum of preliminary ballast excavation.

    摘要： Apparatus for applying rail anchors to railroad track rails comprising a frame carrying rail wheels and having an anchor applying assembly pivotally mounted thereon. The anchor applying assembly having spaced heads, one of which is movable relative to the other and both of which are rotatable about one of the rods. Each head including means for carrying an anchor beneath a rail and hanging the anchor on the rail base including means for moving the anchor carrying means from an upper anchor loading position into a lower anchor hanging position. Means for moving one head relative to the other head to firmly hold the anchors against a tie or a tie plate and anchor pressing means to press the anchors onto the rail base.
