摘要: A log feed roll for displacing a log has a roll which may be rotated around a rotary axis, flutes for propelling the log, and removable flute attachments fastened to the flutes for contacting the log during engagement of the log in the feed roll. The flutes have flute apertures extending through side walls thereof. The attachments have a top attachment section from which generally opposed side braces extend. The attachments are fastened to the flutes by bolts extending through the brace apertures on one side brace, the flute apertures and the brace apertures on the opposing side brace, and nuts engaged on the bolts on the opposing side brace. The side walls are situated between the side braces, in abutment therewith when the attachment is fastened to the flute.

摘要: The present invention discloses a log sawing system comprising multiple cutting blades. The multiple cutting blades are positioned to cut laterally or perpendicular to the centerline of the log which is to be cut. The logs are transported into cutting position using some type of log positioner. The multiple cutting blades are rotatably mounted on an arm which is pivotally mounted on a shaft in groups, being driven by an electrical or like motor, all of which are mounted onto a platform positioned adjacent to the log to be cut. Hydraulic lifters are used to partially rotate the saw blades into the cutting position adjacent the log. Means utilizing a computer and lasers are provided to develop a log cutting solution to best utilize the logs.

摘要: The present invention concerns an apparatus for receiving and feeding into a chipper wood to be chipped, said apparatus comprising a feed conveyor (12) receiving log bundles (1′), a tumbling drum (13) breaking the bundles, and a receiving conveyor (7′). The feed conveyor (12) is speed-controlled according to the position information of a log bundle (1′), and the speed of rotation of the tumbling drum (13) is adjusted depending on the amount of wood discharged from the drum. The position information of the log bundle is received for example from the torque moment or input power of the drives of the drum. Thereby the speed of the feed conveyor, respectively the rotation speed of the drum, is set to slow down as a result of the increasing toque moment or input power of the drum, respectively to speed up as a result of the decreasing torque moment or input power.

摘要: A featherboard for use with a cutting machine, such as a table saw, having a table which supports a workpiece, and a fence extending upwardly from the table. A row of flexible fingers lie in respective parallel finger planes and have distal ends for engaging the workpiece. The distal ends generally lie in an engagement plane which is parallel to a featherboard engagement surface of the workpiece, and each of the flexible fingers is capable of flexing in a flex direction perpendicular to its respective finger plane. In a compound angle configuration, the finger planes intersect the engagement plane at a pair of angles so that, during use, a single featherboard provides forces which urge the workpiece both against the fence and against the table as the workpiece is pushed along the fence in a workpiece travel direction. A parallel setting gauge may be included.

摘要: A swiftly and minutely adjusting device for a wood-planer working table includes a bottom base, a stationary working table, a movable working table, a linking rod unit, an adjusting device, a guide plate and a tightening grip. The movable working table is slidably combined on the bottom base. The adjusting device and the linking rod unit are pivotally connected to a support shaft to permit the adjusting device move the linking rod unit for swiftly adjusting the height of the movable working table. A worm gear is attached on the support shaft, and the adjusting device has a worm shaft and a bevel gear unit for adjusting minutely the support shaft, so the movable working table of a wood planer can be adjusted minutely as well.

摘要: An improved lumber positioning device on a carpentry cutting bench includes a rectangular board secured on the bench, a pair rip fences secured to the lateral edges of the board which has a number of oblique cutting grooves radically formed in center with pair of parallel transverse guide grooves beside the cutting grooves. The rip fences each has a number of corresponding oblique vertical slot communicating the cutting grooves, a pair of positioning plates slidably secured to a protrudent bar in the guide grooves each of which has a rack on an inner wall engageable with the serrated outer edge of a pair of expanding plates inside the positioning plates. A pair of positioning rods each has an elliptic eccentrically integrated at lower end engaged into the positioning plate for rotatably operated the expanding plates to lock or unlock the positioning plates to achieve a non-step gripping a cutting lumber on the rectangular board.

摘要: A portable sawmill is described that preferably includes a frame-mounted, elongate tub for surrounding a log, the frame mounting adjacent the base of the tub a lateral chain conveyor for rolling the log or advancing it laterally on a frame-mounted lift mechanism for elevating the log as it is ripped by an overhead set of circular saws. The circular saws are double-carriage mounted, with the carriages being a fixed elevation on the frame and with the main and secondary carriages being reciprocally positionable, respectively, along the length and width of the tub above the log. The circular saws preferably include one vertical-swath blade and two vertically separately elevation-adjustable horizontal-swath blades. To one side of the tub, and along the substantial length of the frame, are a plurality of retractable support arms mounted on the frame at a height approximately equal to the elevation of the lateral conveyor at the highest elevation of the lift mechanism. Logs may be lifted as they are processed, and cants produced by such processing may be lifted and moved laterally onto the support arms for further milling. The support arms are automatically retracted from a maximum inward extent to a incrementally, successively retracted position synchronously with lateral movement of the secondary carriage, at the beginning of each of successive passes of the main carriage, to prevent interference between the saw blades and the inward termini of the retractable arms. Structure for spindle-aligning logs, rotating partly squared logs and handling cants while finish milling lumber is described.
