Abstract: A system includes components that allow the user to select how to perform disc diagnosis with the components of the system. The system components include a FAD catheter, a guidewire and stylet, in which both the guidewire and stylet are compatible with the catheter. The user may select to insert the catheter into the disc with a stylet included in the system. The user may also select to insert the catheter into the disc with the guidewire included in the system, for example after the guidewire has been placed with a rigid needle.

Abstract: There is provided herein a system and method of collecting, EM data in the context(s) of hydrocarbon exploration, appraisal, development, and surveillance, which provides improved ground coupling between the electrodes and the earth or surface ice and, as a consequence, a higher quality transmitted and received signal is obtained thereby. Where the surface of the ground is saturated and frozen (e.g., in the case of a survey conducted on sea ice or frozen tundra), the survey instruments (sources and receivers) may be coupled more faithfully to the surface by drilling or melting holes into the ice (or frozen tundra) and inserting electrodes into the resulting holes. Each hole may (or may not) be lined with material to retard the loss of water therefrom. Preferably, each of the holes (source and receiver) will be filled with water (fresh or salt) before data collection begins.

Abstract: An apparatus for inspecting a sealed container is disclosed and which includes a pulsed electron accelerator which is positioned in spaced relation relative to a first side of the sealed container, and which produces a pulsed beam of photons which passes through the sealed container and any contents enclosed within the sealed container; a detector positioned in spaced relation relative to a second, opposite side of the sealed container, and which receives the pulsed beam of photons which passes through the contents of the sealed container, and which produces an output signal; and means for developing a visible image from the output signal of the detector which depicts the contents of the sealed container.

Abstract: An integrated circuit transistor is fabricated with a trench gate having nonconductive sidewalls. The transistor is surrounded by an isolation trench filled with a nonconductive material. The sidewalls of the gate trench are formed of the nonconductive material and are substantially free of unetched substrate material. As a result, the sidewalls of the gate trench do not form an undesired conductive path between the source and the drain of the transistor, thereby advantageously reducing the amount of parasitic current that flows between the source and drain during operation.

Abstract: A search query that includes a first spelling of a term is received. A second spelling of the term is generated. A first set of items that are associated with the first spelling of the term is accessed, and a second set of items that are associated with the second spelling of the term is accessed. A comparison is performed between the first set to the second set. A determination is made as to how to respond to the search query based, at least in part, on the comparison. The response may include a suggested search query that includes the second spelling of the term. The second spelling may be a suggested spelling correction or an alternative spelling. The response may include search results that are relevant to a search query that includes the first spelling of the term, the second spelling, or both the first and second spelling.
