Abstract:
An apparatus for opening and closing a horizontally sliding door includes a chain driven assembly, a reversible motor for moving the chain and a sliding door driver which converts the chain motion to door movement. A remote control device can also be used to operate the sliding door remotely, especially if users are elderly or handicapped individuals.
Abstract:
A window regulator employs a drive cable to regulate opening and closing of a window in a vehicle. The drive cable is attached to a glider which is attached to the window, and extends around a loop which includes first and second guide elements and a drive drum. Rotation of the drive drum causes movement of the cable which in turn causes movement of the window. One of the guide elements is coupled to a torsion spring which causes the guide element to be forced outward to increase the circumference of the loop traveled by the cable and thereby to maintain tension on the cable. The guide element may take the form of a rotatable pulley.
Abstract:
An automatic tension adjusting mechanism for a winding and transmitting device for an automatic door includes a base fixed in a casing; a mount for a transmission wheel around which a belt is wound; the mount being disposed on the base slidably in the right and left directions where the mount forces the belt to be strained and relaxed, and being resiliently energized at all times in one of the directions where the mount forces the belt to be strained; a saw-toothed stop part provided on the mount and adapted to extend in the right and left directions; and an engagement piece provided on the base and adapted to be moved between an engagement starting position with the stop part and a disconnection position from the stop part; a spring between the base and the engagement piece for energizing the engagement piece in a direction where the engagement piece is engaged with the stop part; a tapped hole made in one of the members of the base and the mount; and a bolt screwed into the tapped hole. Two locking states are made selectable: one is a first locking state wherein the bolt is tightened, whereby the engagement piece is fixed at the engagement starting position; the other is a second locking state wherein the engagement piece is fixed at the disconnection part. The bolt is loosened to set the engagement piece to an unlocked state, whereby the engagement piece is resiliently engaged with the stop part.
Abstract:
What is disclosed is a new and novel fume hood sash operator system and a fume hood containing such a system. The sash operator is constructed to operate with a belt drive and a clutch mechanism so that the sash member can be stopped, started, moved up or down to accommodate changes in the flow or air moving through the hood structure and to provide a safe, durable, energy-saving sash operating system.
Abstract:
An operator for an upwardly acting door. A reversible electric motor is drivingly connected to the door by an intermediate drive linkage. A switch assembly is associated with the operator for controlling the upward and downward movement of the door, which switch assembly includes first and second limit switches for deactivating the motor when the door reaches its lowermost and uppermost positions, respectively. A third switch functions as a safety switch for causing reversal in the motor rotation when the driving force exceeds a preselected maximum. Fourth and fifth cut-off switches are respectively positioned adjacent the first and second switches for overriding the third switch when the door is within a preselected distance from its closed or open position. The limit and cut-off switches are controlled by a rotatable screw member having a pair of traveling nuts thereon which coact with a pair of individually movable control slides. One of the control slides activates the first and fourth switches, and the other control slide activates the second and fifth switches.
