    Abstract: A bolt restraint mechanism for restraining a bolt of a bolting mechanism. The bolt restraint mechanism includes a bolt moveable between thrown and retracted positions and a catch plate having an aperture through which the bolt extends. The catch plate is biased to pivot such that a restraint surface of the aperture pushes against the bolt to restrain movement of the bolt. A release trigger is arranged such that when depressed the release trigger pushes against the catch plate to pivot thereby releasing the restraint surface from pushing against the bolt to release the bolt. The catch plate may be biased such that when the restraint surface pushes against the bolt to restrain movement of the bolt, the catch plate is non-orthogonal to the bolt.

    Abstract: This invention discloses a door opener, comprising a shell consisting of an upper cover plate (1) and a lower cover plate (2). The key is that a pushing device for pushing the door to rotate is provided in the shell. An end of a driving device, which has one or more springs, can drive, via a rotating member (3), the pushing device to rotate. A locking/releasing device, which cooperates with the driving device, is provided at the other end of the driving device. The structure of this invention is unique. It allows the door to be conveniently opened and will not cause any possible harm to the users.

The attenuation and retraction device includes a lid with a slot that is open towards the rail. The door includes a pin having an end adapted to enter the slot for interacting with attenuation and retraction device when the pin reaches an entry point of the attenuation and retraction device. The lid includes ramp portion adapted to interact with the pin such that the pin reaches further into the slot after passing the entry point as the door approaches an end position.

    Abstract: The present invention essentially comprises an overhead door backup spring system and method for providing an auxiliary spring counterweight to operate an overhead door shaft upon failure of a spring. The system has an activation unit, an engagement unit operably associated with the activation unit, and an auxiliary spring engagement unit operably associated with the engagement unit and an auxiliary spring. The engagement unit is engageable with the auxiliary spring to transfer torque from the auxiliary spring to the overhead door shaft. In an engaged position the engagement unit is engaged with the auxiliary spring engagement unit upon operation of the activation unit when the spring fails. In a non-engaged position the engagement unit is in non-engagement with the auxiliary spring engagement unit.
