Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a user equipment device (UE) to perform intra-UE co-existence between non-stand-alone (NSA) and stand-alone (SA) mode. The UE may be configured to connect to a first radio access network (RAN) operating according to a first radio access technology (RAT) via a first radio and connect to a second RAN operating according to a second RAT via a second radio. The UE may provide, to the first RAN, configuration information during a radio resource control (RRC) connection procedure. The configuration information may indicate a dual connectivity status of the UE. The dual connectivity status may include indication disabling (enabling) dual connectivity for the UE, working frequencies associated with the second RAN, and/or configurations associated with the second RAN. The UE may receive, from the first RAN, a dual connectivity configuration that may be based on the dual connectivity status of the UE and operate accordingly.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to techniques for performing consecutive conditional handovers. A cellular base station may provide conditional handover information for multiple conditional handovers to a wireless device. The conditional handover information may include information for performing a conditional handover from a cell provided by the cellular base station to at least one cell, and information for performing a conditional handover from one or more of those cells to at least one cell. The wireless device may perform multiple consecutive conditional handovers using the conditional handover information.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to performing bandwidth part activation in a cellular communication system. A wireless device may attach to a network via a cell that includes multiple bandwidth parts. The wireless device may receive an indication activating a non-default bandwidth part for the wireless device. A bandwidth part activation timer may be initiated based at least in part on activation of the non-default bandwidth part. At expiration of the bandwidth part activation timer, the wireless device may deactivate the non-default bandwidth part and activate a default bandwidth part if there is not a procedure to perform an uplink data transfer in progress. If there is a procedure to perform an uplink data transfer in progress at expiration of the bandwidth part activation timer, the procedure may be completed via the non-default BWP even after expiration of the bandwidth part activation timer.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) device may make measurements of network-configured frequencies in an idle mode or an inactive mode, and report the measurements to the network during (or after) a connection establishment or a connection resume process. The initiation of measurements may be delayed until a connection is imminent or until an upper layer request. A result timer may be used to ensure that reported measurements are not too old to be of use. A configuration timer may be used to selectively report inter-frequency/RAT cell measurements. The configuration timer may also be used repeatedly in conjunction with intervening backoff periods. A base station of the network may use the measurements to make informed decisions on when and how to configure carrier aggregation or dual connectivity for the UE device.

A UE may, after establishing an RRC connection with a base station, transmit, to the base station, V2X connection information. The V2X connection information may include a V2X identifier associated with the UE and a V2X identifier associated with a target UE. The UE may receive, from the base station, a side-link configuration for data transmission with the target UE. The side-link configuration may include a resource allocation defined in time and frequency (e.g., a transmit/receive pool). The UE may communicate with the target UE using the resource allocation included in the side-link configuration.

Abstract: Embodiments are presented herein of apparatuses, systems, and methods for performing unicast sidelink access stratum level connection maintenance. A first wireless device and a second wireless device may establish a unicast sidelink wireless connection. One or both of the first wireless device and the second wireless device may perform access stratum level connection maintenance on the unicast sidelink wireless connection. This may include performing any or all of radio link monitoring, radio resource management, or physical layer based link quality detection. The access stratum and the non-access stratum of each device may also communicate with each other regarding either or both of link quality or link status of the unicast sidelink wireless connection.

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a wireless device to perform methods for determining resources for scheduling side-link communications. The resources may be semi-persistent and/or dynamic resources. A user equipment device (UE) may determine a resource map for use in scheduling semi-persistent resources for side-link communications with at least one wireless node. The UE may transmit a resource map request message indicating preferred resource blocks, where each resource block may be defined by a time and a frequency. The UE may receive a confirmation message that may include a report regarding a set of resource blocks. The set of resource blocks may be from the preferred resource blocks included in the resource map request message. The UE may determine, based, at least in part, on the confirmation message, resource blocks to be used for the side-link communications and initiate the side-link communications using the determined resource blocks.
