    Abstract: A temperature sensor 51 is provided in the bill validator according to the present invention to produce a detection signal when a temperature in the case 11 is lowered below a predetermined level. Upon occurrence of the detection signal of the temperature sensor 51, a first timer starts counting a confirmative period of time. When the first timer counts up the confirmative period of time, a second timer produces a drive signal to activate the conveyer motor 38 for a predetermined warming-up period of time. As the conveyer motor 38 is rotated for warming-up, the belt 23 runs in the case 11 to revive its flexibility and generate heat due to dynamic friction of the mechanic parts including the conveyer motor 38, pulleys 21, 22 and belt 23 during rotation of the conveyer motor 38.

    Abstract: A bill handling apparatus 1 is provided which comprises validator 2 provided with validating sensor 22 for validating a bill inserted into the apparatus 1; stacker 3 for storing a bill in response to an output from the validator 2 when the bill is considered genuine by the validator 2; a frame 4 for supporting the stacker 3; coupling device 10 for detachably supporting the validator 2 to align a passageway 21 of the validator 2 with a passageway 31 of the stacker means 3, the coupling device 10 being provided between the validator 2 and frame 4; and connector 60 for electrically connecting the validating sensor 22 in the validator 2 with validator control device 8 in the frame 4. When the validator 2 is connected to the stacker 3 by the coupling device 10 in the condition that the passageways of the validator 2 and stacker 3 are aligned with each other, the validating sensor 22 is automatically electrically connected with the validator control device 8 positioned in the frame 4 through the connector 60, and the conveyer 20 in the validator 2 is automatically drivingly connected with drive device 6 in the frame 4 through power transmitter.

    Abstract: An apparatus for currency validation is disclosed which comprises a validator for identifying authenticity of a bill and a stacker for storing bills. The validator includes a lower portion which has a fixing panel secured to an inner panel surface of a support, an upper portion in hinged connection to the lower portion for movement between opened and closed positions, and a belt-pulley arrangement for defining a passageway to guide a bill when the upper portion is in the closed position. The stacker is in hinged connection to the lower portion of the validator for rotation between operative and rest positions.
