摘要: A method for producing bound books, magazines or brochures by gathering printed sheets into non-bound book blocks along a conveying section that is supplied by at least one sheet feeder includes separating the lowest printed sheet from a stack of printed sheets by lifting one edge region of the lowest printed sheet from the bottom of the printed sheet stack, withdrawing the separated lowest printed sheet with the aid of a conveying element from the remaining sheet stack by gripping the separated edge region with the conveying element, and subsequently withdrawing the separated lowest printed sheet in a direction parallel to the longitudinal extension of the edge region of the remaining sheet stack. The apparatus includes a separating device that lifts up the printed sheet at the stack front and a conveying element that pulls the printed sheet from the stack where both are arranged jointly on a removal unit.

摘要: The method and apparatus for fabricating lengths of cloth from a continuous supply of cloth wherein the free end of the supply of cloth is moved onto a cutting platform, prescribed lengths of the continuous supply are cut, and the cut lengths of cloth are then moved in a lateral path with the cut ends disposed generally parallel to the path of travel. One cut end of each of the cut lengths of cloth is hemmed, and the lengths of cloth are then inverted as they are moved through a U-shaped path, and the other end of each length of cloth is hemmed. The hemming function at both ends of the cut lengths of cloth are performed by right handed sewing machines.

摘要: Apparatus for supplying stacks of paper sheets or the like to two or more packing machines has a platform for collection of successive rows of stacks, e.g., by arresting sheets forming part of discrete scalloped streams of sheets. Two or more discrete carriages for tongs are utilized to remove stacks in any desired grouping from the platform and to deliver them to two or more discrete removing units serving to transport the stacks to discrete packing machines. Each removing unit can employ a set of two or more aligned conveyors. Each carriage is or can be driven by a separate prime mover, each carriage can support two or more tongs, or each carriage can support a single tongs. All such undertakings contribute to versatility of the apparatus, namely the apparatus can be operated to ensure equal distribution of stacks among the removing units or one or more selected removing units can receive larger or smaller numbers of stacks than the other unit or units.

摘要: The invention pertains to a device for gathering sheets (3) with feeder stations (15) that are arranged in a row and consist of a magazine (20) for respectively accommodating a stack (4) of identical sheets, a separating device (50) that tilts an exposed edge region (3b) of the respective bottom sheet away from the stack (4) and a transport device (30) that withdraws the sheet from the stack parallel to the longitudinal direction of the edge region, and with a collecting conveyor (10) that features pushers (13) for the gathered stacks (2). In order to achieve a high processing speed, the invention proposes that the separating device (50) features at least one suction element (51) for tilting away at least one corner of the sheet (3), and that the transport device for withdrawing the sheet (3) is formed by a traction means conveyor (30) with individually actuated grippers (32) that are anchored on revolving traction means (31) within certain distances from one another and at least two of which take hold of the exposed edge region (3b), wherein the traction means conveyor (30) is inclined toward the collecting conveyor (10) in order to deposit the withdrawn sheet (3) on the stack (2) being formed directly in front of the pusher (13) of the collecting conveyor (10). The invention makes it possible to reliably decollate head-folded signatures if the suction element (51) is arranged on the upstream corner of the stack (4).
