    摘要: A work stop for use on a machine vise is received in a jaw plate for such vise and is securely locked in position. The work stop is fixed in a groove that is machined into a top edge of the jaw plate or jaw, with a member extending over the edge of the jaw plate and adjacent the face of the jaw plate that is used for clamping, a workpiece. This permits the workpiece to be slid against the stop before being clamped. The jaw plate is removably mounted onto a fixed jaw, and is located precisely relative to the fixed jaw so that the jaw plate with the work stop attached can be removed, and then replaced when the same part is to be machined again.

    摘要: A double vise using a single actuating screw with a self-setting preload arrangement includes a vise base, a center fixed jaw and a pair of movable jaws which are movable toward and away from the center fixed jaw. The movable jaws being actuated with the vise screw. The loads on the vise screw from the jaws being reacted initially by springs that apply a resilient preload against a workpiece in either one of the movable jaws. One jaw is driven with a sleeve rotatably mounted on a cylindrical section of the vise screw and driven through a load release clutch. The springs are mounted on a vise screw support housing that is slidably mounted on the vise base and which provides automatic adjustment of the vise jaws to clamp different size workpieces in the jaws. The sleeve has a threaded section for operating one of the jaws.

    摘要: A two station, single action vise has a body, with a fixed center block forming oppositely facing fixed jaws, and movable jaws at opposite ends of the body that are moved by operation of a vise screw toward one of the respective oppositely facing fixed jaws in the center of the body. The vise screw is spring centered and will yield to apply a preclamp with one of the jaws onto a piece part. The movable jaws are shown operated by a vise screw that has left-hand threads for operating one of the movable jaws and right-hand threads for operating the other movable jaw, so that as the screw is rotated both movable jaws move simultaneously toward the center block forming the fixed jaws. In this way two work pieces can be clamped by the movable jaws against the center fixed jaw. In order to preclamp piece parts under a spring load the screw is moved so it can shift axially slightly under spring load after preclamping one part until both movable jaws are positioned to clamp their respective piece parts tightly. The vise screw also can be adjusted axially relative to the vise body to shift one movable jaw relative to the fixed jaw to a different position than the first jaw for purposes of permitting different size parts to be clamped by the respective jaws.

The drive can be disengaged from the drive rail while the sensor remains engaged to permit teaching the controls various stop positions while manually moving the carriage drive housing.

    摘要: A blade sharpener includes a handle to which first and second sharpening members are pivotally attached. The handle has first and second receiving slots for the first and second sharpening members, each slot being on a side opposite the other within the handle. The sharpening members are capable of pivoting from a slot engaging position to an upwardly inclined position, the upwardly inclined position being defined by engagement of a stop within the handle. The sharpening members are inclined in opposite directions resulting in their upper portions being in a spaced relationship. When the blade sharpener is not in use, the sharpening members are pivoted into their respective receiving slots forming a compact unit for storage.
