摘要: A filter device housed within a body component. The filter device can include an outer filter and an inner filter positioned coaxially within the outer filter. The outer and inner filters may be composed of a material having mesh, slots, holes, or any other openings being of a sufficient size and shape to restrict passage of items of a predetermined size or larger. Formed between the inner and outer filters is a first annular space into which fluid that is provided down the drill string may enter. The filter device may also include a valve within the internal bore which regulates passage of wellbore fluid provided to the drill string, or for a wireline or slickline, to pass through the filter device in order to access other components of the drill string downhole from the filter device.

The screen housing also includes a top face and a bottom face. A plurality of screen segments are positioned on the top face of the screen housing, such that the plurality of screen segments on the top face provide a screening surface area less than a total surface area of the top face, and a plurality of screen segments are positioned on the bottom face of the screen housing, such that the plurality of screen segments on the bottom face provide a screening surface area less than a total surface area of the bottom face. A total screening surface area of the filtering assembly is greater than the total surface area of the top face.

摘要: An apparatus, comprising a body extending in an axial direction, a sleeve for the body, and locking means for locking the body and the sleeve. The body and the sleeve comprise complementary mating protrusions and recesses configured to positively interlock the body and the sleeve in the axial direction and configured to positively interlock the body and the sleeve rotationally by the locking means positively engaging the recesses in both the body and the sleeve. A method for fixing axially and rotationally a sleeve to a body, wherein the body extends in an axial direction, comprising the steps of: sliding in the axial direction the sleeve onto the body, positively interlocking the body and the sleeve in the axial direction by rotating the sleeve relative to the body, and positively interlocking the body and the sleeve rotationally by sliding in the axial direction locking means into the body and the sleeve, the locking means comprising extensions positively engaging recesses in both the body and the sleeve. Use of the apparatus or method as above for attaching external tool elements or tool components for operations done in connection with open holes, risers, marine risers, wellbores, casings, or liners.

摘要: The invention provides a method of manufacturing a solid phase barite containing material for use in a wellbore. The method includes the steps of providing the barite containing material having relatively small particles with a particle size distribution of at least 50 vol % particles having a diameter in the range of 1 μm to 10 μm and at least 90 vol % particles having a diameter in the range of 4 μm to 20 μm; and contacting the barite containing material with a liquid in order to form relatively large particles having a particle size distribution with at least 90 vol % of the particles having a diameter of at least 30 μm. There is also described a method of treating a wellbore with a fluid including the barite containing material.
