摘要: The present invention relates to a method of taking a core sample of a formation. The method includes reducing a viscosity of a water binding starting material in a pumping form. The water binding starting material includes at least one polymer, at least one cross linker capable of curing the at least one polymer and a retarder capable of delaying cross linking of the at least one polymer. At least one additive is added to the water binding starting material to reduce the viscosity of the water binding starting material to less than 2 times of a viscosity of water at a selected temperature. The method further includes pumping the water binding starting material into a borehole in a formation, allowing the water binding starting material to cure in the formation, and taking the core sample from the formation containing the cured water binding starting material.

摘要: Various processes are disclosed for producing nanocellulose materials following steam extraction or hot-water digestion of biomass. Processes are also disclosed for producing nanocellulose materials from a wide variety of starting pulps or pretreated biomass feedstocks. The nanocellulose materials may be used as rheology modifiers in many applications. Water-based and oil-based drilling fluid formulations and additives are provided. Also, water-based and oil-based hydraulic fracturing fluid formulations and additives are provided. In other embodiments, polymer-nanocellulose composites are provided.

摘要: A solvent blend for breaking down and reducing the viscosity of petroleum substance consists essentially of one or more methyl esters of C14-C18 fatty acids, one or more C9-C20 low aromatic hydrocarbon solvents, and one or more C4-C8 high aromatic hydrocarbon solvents, with the high aromatic solvent fraction being dispersed within the solvent blend in droplet form. The solvent blend may be produced by mixing the high aromatic solvent fraction into an intermediate or base blend consisting essentially of the methyl ester fraction and the low aromatic solvent fraction, with the base blend being produced by mixing the lower aromatic solvent fraction into the methyl ester fraction such that the lower aromatic solvent fraction is dispersed within the methyl ester fraction in droplet form.

The methods include mixing conductive materials into a fluid, introducing the fluid into the well, and allowing the conductive materials to coat a surface of a subsurface formation, thereby forming an electrically conductive data conduit coating. The methods further include transmitting data through the electrically conductive data conduit coating to determine the integrity of the well.

The method includes introducing the invert OBM, which includes an oleaginous continuous phase, an aqueous internal phase, and an emulsifier with two hydrophilic head groups and a hydrophobic tail group into the wellbore. A method of preparing an invert oil-based mud (OBM) is also provided. The method includes mixing an emulsifier comprising two hydrophilic head groups and a hydrophobic tail group with an oleaginous phase and an aqueous phase.

摘要: A drilling fluid comprises one or more deep eutectic solvents in an amount greater than or equal to 70 wt. % based on the total weight of the drilling fluid. Each deep eutectic solvent comprises at least one hydrogen bond acceptor compound and at least one hydrogen bond donor compound. A molar ratio of the total moles of the hydrogen bond donor compounds to the total moles of the hydrogen bond acceptor compounds in each deep eutectic solvent is from 0.1 to 1.0. The drilling fluid has a density greater than or equal to 200 kg/m3. The drilling fluid has a viscosity greater than or equal to 0.5 Pa·s when measured at 25° C. Methods for drilling wells in subterranean formations using the drilling fluid are also disclosed.
